Hey everyone, I’m new here as you can probably tell- but I am in no means new to the lucid dreaming world I have been trying to WILD for quite some time now, in fact, I can further expand this statement that I have been trying to enter sleep paralysis for quite some time now.
For those that don’t know, going into sleep paralysis while the mind is still awake is a great way to jump into an LD! Recently, I have been trying to trick my body into falling asleep, and only once (my first attempt) was I able to get into the first stage of sleep paralysis. Even then, I chickened out, and broke out of the state before I was really paralyzed in anything.
The rest of the attempts (about 7 or so) have had some progress- but only to the point where I get to the state where you hear sounds and see images behind your eyelids. At this point, my eyes always flinch, and this seems to break the process- I am always so close to SP, too!
What can I do to prevent my eyes from flinching? All help is appreciated, thanks
On a further note… I have woken up to sleep paralysis… No old hag, shadows, “aliens,” or ghosts- just distorted whispers and voices. I closed my eyes to prevent myself from seeing any hallucinations, focused on my fingers, and then I felt them move. I jerked up from my bed and broke out of the SP. It wasn’t scary at all!! It seems to me that people are so afraid of SP, that they forget the wonderful opportunity that entering sleep paralysis can provide! (Falling into dreams!)
