i need help with HI

I got a little information about HI but i was wondering will i know what it is when i see one and how can i step into it.

I’ve got HI’s before, like lots of purple patches, then I saw a star, my friend told me to visualise a hand grabbind the star, any insights?

thanks i will try visualize myself grabing a star.

Coldfusion, what you describe are phosphenes, not HI. The technique your friend told you is rather rare. I believed there was something about on the forum but I can’t find it anymore.

It seems it’s possible to grab phosphenes, or zoom into them, or opening them like they were a door. I don’t have a lot of information about this.

Elrick, there are 3 kind of HH: visual, auditory and somesthetic. Visual: you see images, faces, landscapes. They disappear as soon as you notice them. Auditory: you hear weird sounds and voices. Somesthetic: your body seems to stretch or float or sink. It’s easy to recognize.

Once you have them, it’s another problem. When you have visual HH, you can zoom in into them or step into them. When you have auditory or somesthetic HH, you can roll over or spin around your axis. When exactly and how is it possible to do is not easy to explain and you have to discover it by yourself.

Oh? And where does taste fall under?

Not very common at all, and I haven’t found an effective way to use it in WILD’ing… I’m just posting it to be an as-… contrary.

To actually contribute something useful to the topic, I usually let the HI kinda build around me, and I eventually… melt into the dream, if you will.

They fall under the category of gustatory HH, which are very rare indeed and happens only to weird people who mainly use their tongue in order to contradict others.

Well that’s sort of odd, do you know of any paintings to describe an HI, because I really don’t know anymore…

Well, for the first time recently, I’ve been able to get HI. First, it was a kite flying around, and the next night it was a fish swimming about. It varies greatly. I couldn’t control these “visualisations”, so I knew that they were HI.

Ah, now I understand what they are, just random images? Hmm, I did this during the day. I tried it last night and ended up getting no sleep until 2am, and waking up at 9. So naturally I was very tired, this is basically what I did to try and get WILD.

 1. I had a nice hot bath for a bit, to relax me.
 2. I put the LucidRemix MP3 on my ipod, and listened to that while doing the WILD exercises.
 3. After doing the exercises, I layed down, and put part of a bed cover over my eyes, to simulate it being dark, then I just counted, 1. I’m dreaming, 2. I’m dreaming, and I did that for about half an hour, I just saw purple patches, that’s what I always see, it’s very strange. But only once it formed into a shape, a star, and that was yesterday.

HI can be just random shapes, but it can also be much more. It can be like short movie clips, like you are watching something happening. It is different then a dream, and I have not been able to go into a HI yet. For me it usaly starts as the dots start turning into faces, or dragons. I guess I have something about dragons, I used to play D&D when I was young and back in the USA. When I get close to falling asleep, then I will start seeing people, It is not like they are in my room, it is like I am seeing them somewhere else. I usally get into a dream, or fall asleep soon after that. So far I have only been lucid for a few secs. when I go into a dream. :sadyes:

Even going lucid for a few secs would make me extremely happy, just to see what it feels like.

well, I’d say that HI looks bit like a dream, but you are still concous a bit, and you arent in there. If you will think something like “What the heck am i thinking about?” you will get a lot more awake. If you wont notice that, you will get in that and that will be dream.

I’d say that HH are very deep state of HI. HI’s happens when brain wents in REM state, HH happens when brain is in REM.

I don’t agree with this. First of all, what is called HI is just visual HH. Second, HH happen in the hypnagogic state, which is Stage 1 of sleep. (Source: wikipedia).

There is still something curious in WILD BTW. :eh: How is it possible to go straight from stage 1 to REM?

are the stages of sleep step in stone or are they flexible.

Maybe when we WILD, we are changing the order of our sleep pattern? I’m not too sure though, what do you guys think?

Coldfusion, what are these “WILD exercises” to which you refer? The only WILD exercises I know of involve lying down, closing your eyes, and performing a simple mental exercise to keep conscious, but you report doing this AFTER these “WILD excercises.” I would greatly appreciate being told what exercises you are talking about.

You know, on the main site, where you tense your foot, relax it and so forth to your head.

I’m lucky to have awesome HI, I always know when sleep is about to come (if I look for it). Visual, Audio and random thoughts (which category does illogical thoughts go into? ).

WBTB works great for me, but I rarely WILD, it’s always DILD. It’s quick though, I’m dreaming about 2-5 mins after falling asleep, but I definately lose consciousness for this period.

I’ve wondered about HH myself, having such strong and distinct HI. From what I read, you see the HI over the real world ? … which seems funny, if your eyes are closed.

Interesting stuff.

The stages of sleep are set in stone!
There is stage 1 to 4, or 5. It depends a bit on what you read, and how you divide them up.
I learned that there are 4 stages, each stage conneted with a spicific patern of branwaves and or REM. That said, the order in which you go through the stages is not set in stone. In general, when you need sleep as is normal when you have been up all day, your first 90 minute cycle of sleep is mostly deep sleep ie. stage 4 and you go into it very quickly after going to sleep. The later cycles have less stage 4 and more of the lite stages. It is also posable to have cycles without stage 4 sleep.
There have also been experiments where they have deprived people of REM sleep. They had someone watching who always woke the people up when REM started. These people started going directly into REM sleep after a while, so you can go directly into REM sleep, you do not have to go through stage 4, or deep sleep first, it is just the way it normaly happens when you go to bed after a day of being awake. That is also why WBTB helps, you are going into REM faster, and having longer REM phases. You can also have LD’s in the first sleep cycle of the night, but they tend to be short, just a few minutes at most.
