I think I became lucid...

This last night I tried using the C-WILD technique (which means I counted myself to sleep in order to maintain some awarewness), and this time it worked to some extent.
I remember that in the dream I was walking around like normally, believing it was reality, but I was still thinking of lucid dreaming and remembered I was doing that technique.
Then I looked out the kitchen window and actually saw lots of wind generators sticking out fairly high, probably the height of a 5-story building.
That didn’t make sense because that would mean they were somewhere in the middle of the village, and they’ve never ever been there before, so I suddenly concluded “hey, this has to be dream” - however, I didn’t feel any real euphoria.
Instead I decided to remove the wind generators, so I was like “wind generators - begone!”, but that didn’t work.
Then I tried sticking my fingers through the wall, and that didn’t work either, so I more or less accepted that this might be reality after all;
for some reason I never thought of leaving the apartment and taking a look at the village!

Now I’m wondering - what did I do wrong?
I was right there, in the middle of the dream, making active decisions and almost knowing I was dreaming, but things seemed completely normal.
Was it because I wasn’t 100% sure it was a dream?

It was probably low lucidity (if not a FLD ) it’s hard to tell sometimes…

Nothing! Don’t worry about what you did wrong and think about what you did right! You’re getting better. If it wasn’t lucidity, you are fantasticly close. If it was, it was just low lucidity and that’s already great! The first times can be tricky and you can be convinced you’re not really lucid easily (heh, still happens to me  ) Simply noticing something isn’t right and thinking that “it’s a dream!” might be the answer is great progress. I say try that WILD thing again

I will try this counting method again, I seem to fall asleep very quickly after doing WBTB in the morning.

As for your experience, personally. I would say that was a LD, but…normally people get extremely exited on their first lucid dream, and you managed to keep calm, which is quite suprising.

Have you been really wanting a lucid dream. Or are you generally a relaxed individual?

And I agree with Mattias, it could have been low lucidity. Iv’e experienced both ends of the spectrum, and there is a HUGE difference.

I am very calm as a person normally (even quite hectical moments usually just make me go “oh, crap…” XD), but I’ve been looking forward to lucid dreams a lot and I’m not sure I truly realized what was going on.
I figured it was probably a lucid dream, but I didn’t quite see the possiblities; I also think I sort of lost my possible initial excitement when I couldn’t affect those wind generators, and then I slowly started to accept that okay, maybe it’s reality after all.

I will try this again next morning, maybe this will lead to complete lucidity. :peek: :ok:

So right now, you know that was definately a dream. But you still considered it might have been reality? Learn to trust in yourself you know that it was a dream, maybe in the dream ask yourself. “What was I just doing?” You might come up with the answer. “I was lying in bed and doing WILD” then you will know it’s a dream. And don’t let the realistic feeling stop you from doing what you want.

I more or less knew for a moment that it was a dream, but I started to mistrust when I couldn’t seem to do anything unreal - even the poke-finger-through-wall RC didn’t work, but I know I did it in the dream.
But this was my first time in over a decade, so I probably just need som practice.
