When I have a dream, it is as if I am just watching, I can’t really take control, or when I try to it is as if my brain starts to shut down and I lose the dream. I had a dream that my friend was at my school, (my friend lives a few thousand miles away) so when I started to realize something weird was happening the dream shut down.
My other problem is reality checks just dont work for me in real life. When I try to do it, I can’t concentrate enough, it is like I know I’m not dreaming so it doesn’t matter.
early excitement/anticipation frequently ends LDs, but just continue. Overtime dreams will become more stable and higher levels of lucidity will appear.
You don’t have to believe in RC. But you do need to practice regularly in waking state, so when you are pre-lucid and your mind is foggy you can remember an RC to use, pushing you into lucidity.
I like digital watch RC as you can do it very quickly many times a day.
First of all your going to have to work on your motivation, read others dream diaries that usually helps me. When you do an RC know that its going to help you do exciting things in dreams if you stick to it and commit.
when it comes to the 3rd person dream. use it to your advantage. Wow im looking at myself, i must be dreaming, kind of thing. For me i know that when i am just starting back into LDing after a long break. it takes a few very short quick ending uneventful LDs for the good ones to start coming. just keep with it and better ones will come.
dont be afraid to get excited about LDing, too much on this forum people say dont get too excited or you will have problems when you get an LD and wake up. but then people lose motivation because they have lost the excitement factor. IMO your better off getting excited and waking up, than you are not getting an LDs at all dont you think?
