Ok this might sound weird but have you ever tried to imagine stuff inside of a dream? Like instead of looking for something you just act like you already have it, or maybe you take something you already have and act like its something else.
When you think of a dreams you might normally think, well its all inside your head so its all just your imagination but thats not really true. When you want something, you normally look for an actual object, that you can see and feel. Maybe you want something to drink so you look for a glass of water. Have you ever just tried holding you hand out and acting like your pouring something into your hand then drink it?
The reason I bring this up is because I tried stuff like this a few times. Some times you don’t see anything, some time an the object really appears, or it might appear and look really strange but even if something your imagining doesn’t look right it normally feels VERY real, and it normally acts the way it should.
Once, I was imagining another person was with me in a car. The things I was imagining was as real as the things which was “real” in the dream. But several other times, it has been just “acting”. I can see there isnt actually a dragon in my living room, for example, but i can still imagine it more vividly than in RL. I just can’t get the dragon to materialize.
When people tell stories in my dreams, I can see the story as a movie or comic book. Has that happened to you?
I think this way of manipulating your dreamscape is a very powerful one. Like intention or acting as if something has already happened. Expectation, yeah thats the word!
I guess for it to work very successfully you have to be good at manipulating your mind, like convincing yourself of stuff that isnt real or logical/supposed to happen. A lot of it has to do with getting over IRL world rules. Something to keep in mind is to think like you would if it did happen, then act like you would if it did happen, and then you’ll find that it did happen or is happening. Pretty cool.
Wait i just realized that youre talking about just imagination in the dream, without stuff happening but more like purely experiencing them?
Hmm, i dont think ive ever really tried that, consciously having such in mind in an LD. Usually when i imagine or expect it ends up happening. Alot of my ND’s involve my imagination manipulating my dreamscape, and ive noticed that a lot of transitions are due to my imagination (and still i dont notice them, its weird! and fascinating…). I’ll have to try the pure imagination thing and see what happens.
For me, when ppl tell me a story or something it becomes the dream, and im either living the story or ‘observing’ it, kind of like a history documentary with the panning pictures except the pictures are movies and its more ‘real’ and i’m more ‘into it’. Comic books? Nah, but one thing i want to do is experience Manga, god that would be sick!!!
When I were a kid, like 7-8 years old, I used too dream that I were playing and I wanted something, let us say a snowball, and I just thought that “I got a snowball in my hand” and when i were looking down at my hands, there it was, a snowball!
Last night I experienced something like this. I was looking for a door to find the Lucid Crossroads. When I found one, I visualized the LC, opened the door, but it didn’t work. So I figured, if the doors I see don’t take me there, why not creating a door which WILL take me there. So I used my two forefingers to draw a rectangular door in the air. That was the place where the door has to be. But as soon as I did it, the door materialized, following the path of my fingers. When I finished it, it looked exactly like the red doors from the Crossroads. It just stood there in the same way, fully surrounded by air.
