So, I’ve been trying to WILD for a while, and I just realized something that I was doing may be a gateway for me to get into the full dream state. What I usually end up doing is picturing something in my head, and placing myself into the scene. However, I am still in control of most everything (other characters’ reactions and actions etc.) I can see my body and whatnot, but I am not physically controlling them, rather doing it in my head. I’m not sure I said that coherently, but I hope you get what I mean.
What I end up doing is trying to do some things I’ve heard people do in advanced HI, like make a door and walk through it, into the dream, or jump into a chimney. Those don’t seem to work. Should I just let these play out until i fade into a dream, or stop using them all together, because these also seem a lot like me just imagining stuff. But, they also sound like they may be advanced HI because I have already had the swirly colors. And, if you are curious, I am not in sleep paralysis when this happens. I don’t seem to get it, or have never gotten that far.
No, I know that I’m not imagining the swirly colors, they take a while, and my eyes are constantly fluttering, but not enough to open then, so I know that its not that I’m closing my eyes very hard. Also, it takes a while to get to the swirly patterns.
I’m the same way. My SP is very subtle and i don’t even really feel it… i just get a little tingly, and then HI starts… The advice that I have gotten from others is to not worry about SP. Just worry about your dream, and you should be able to do just fine. I also find that it feels very natural to move my dream arms without moving my real arms, so quite frankly… I think that SP is a little over talked… But maybe I just haven’t experienced it the same way others have… Anyways, hope that helps.
And also… I get the same thing as you where you’re not sure whether to enter your quick dream flashes or to just let them play out. I’m pretty sure that this is not your imagination. I get the same thing, and It always seems like the harder i try, the more and more those quick dream scenes fade. So next time, i think you should let them play out a little before trying to hard to get into them. Just make certain that you stay aware that you’re dreaming. If you lose that awareness you might find yourself in a ND. Also, when you find your dream body, try spinning or a similar technique. It might work miraculously for you. I hope this advice doesn’t waste your time
