This is now the 4th time i’m having this problem . Tonight i was in a dark room with only a clock, en when i was passing the clock i thought about watching it again, to be sure i was not in a dream. The clock was blurry and i thought this could be a dream. I then was watching my hands and they were very strange. Immediately i had a feeling that i was getting sucked in the dream. But i had the feeling that i was kinda stuck between my sleeping, en the waking in the dream. It felt like a struggle and i really was trying to tell myself to get more lucid, but i wake up… This is have now for like the 4th time. I am very known with much around lucid dreaming and dreaming itself, but i don’t know how i can help this. Also i have the feeling that i always have dreams were its dark if i get a reality check and almost lucid. I also never have been fully lucid before. Or not more then a few seconds. I am thinking in reality then to imagine a dreamworld were there is alot of sun and a nice place, but it seems i always keep getting in those dark places(not scary). Anyone tips or suggestions for me???
Do you notice yourself getting excited and/or scared when you become lucid? I actually have the same problem you have, and what I’ve seen while looking around the forums is that you often wake up seconds after becoming lucid because you get too excited, or even scared at your own success. If this is your problem, try to stay calm, maybe focus on your sense of touch (rubbing your hands, licking your lips, removing clothes, etc.). If this isn’t your problem, I’m not sure what you should do, sorry
Hm, I had this exact same experience last night (first lucid dream in a while actually, so that was nice).
I opened the fridge and noticed that the stuff in there was totally different, then thought “huh? this looks odd, is this a dream? hey, yes it is” (I didn’t really feel excited though, I just realized that I was dreaming and that was it - for some reason I never feel particularly excited when I actually turn lucid).
But then the dream started to fade and I had to counter it with rubbing my hands, and then I dreamed that I woke up and told my little brother about the dream and then woke up for real.
I believe the problem is simply insufficient state of awareness, so more LL and DJ writing will help.
It’s also very important that you have plenty of time to sleep, so you don’t start dreaming seconds before your biological clock wakes you up.
It’s also very important to realize this - lucid dreaming requires practice, and just as with any other skill some people might need more time to get used to the nature of lucid dreams.
I think its true what your saying. I indeed sensed a little bit fear and excitement when i went lucid. Maybe it’s because of that. I will also use your advice and trying to use it good . Tonight i sensed like i had another lucid incoming but not as much. I was going outside and went in a whirlwind and it felt like dying. Strange howmany lucid experiences i know seems to get in a short time. I ll reply when i get more then 30 seconds of lucidity and tell what i did for maybe the next beginners here then.
