Impotence in my dreams (No, get your mind out of the gutter)

Now that I used a double entendre to get attention to my thread, I have a dream issue.
For years I’ve wanted to use sweet powers such as shooting lightning from my fingertips or even just walking through a mirror but my mind gives me the middle finger and won’t let me shoot lightning and if I try to go through a mirror to see if there’s something interesting the glass just stretches out and I find myself in a boring black empty room. Any advice?

xD damn luring thread title

Anyway onto topic.

The problem you have is a frequent one among those just starting to LD. Your ‘power’ problem is particularry one i read alot of. Remember its all in your mind, and because shooting lightning is not something we can do in RL (though it would be awesome , your Subconcious mind see’s it as ‘illogical’ and ‘impossible’ to do, even with your lucid dream.
So advice for this:
Use a ‘prop’ or device to start with, give your powers a ‘logical’ reason or source within your dreams. For example a wand, a gun, a magical or high technologically advanced gauntlet…something that the lightning can come from. BELIEVE it can come from these and then slowly and with practise, ween yourself off using the items. This bit of advice can be used with all powers; flying, breathing underwater and etc.

Now for your 2nd issue, the dark/blank room.
I envy you with this xD. You have the perfect blank canvas to create your own dream world from scratch here, its something you could try if you wanted but i dont suggest it as a starter since the process can make the dream unstable and very easy to loose lucidity or even wake you up. Instead, think of where you want to go…and summon a door/time machine/etc. Believe it will be behind you (’ theres a door behind me’) and then turn around. You could then say where you want to go and open the door, chances are …it will open to a new dream or the place you want to go ^^ (has done this technique before)

There are different ways to change your dreamscape beyond this one though; spinning in a circle, flying to the new dream, teleportation, distraction…lots of different ones; you just need to find one that works for you, so dont be afraid to experiment. ^^

Hope this helps

I’ve been doing LDs for 6-7 years and I’ve been struggling with this problem for a long time, so I’m not sure if it’s a problem of being new to the art.

So what do you do once you are in the black, empty room?
I have heard several stories of people who wait in the dark, and then something amazing arises.
