information about stephen laberge prior to LD research?

I wasn’t sure where to post this, so I apologize to the mods if this is in the wrong place…

I was reading somewhere about research Stephen LaBerge was doing prior to his lucid dreaming research. it had something to do with drugs, possibly lsd. then someone suggested he get into something more empirical, and he started his dream research. can anyone help with information? I’ve tried searching for the website where I read this, but have had no luck…

I would think that’s a rumor, I’ve never heard that sorry. It might be true, just can’t picture someone like him who would do drugs

he was a researcher, I don’t think he was doing the drugs himself…although I think he did do hallucinagins in the 60s.

I think I read all this in an interview, I just don’t remember where
