Ipods perfect RC alarm

i found that my ipods beep alram works perfectly for RCing

just program it a couple times a day and then do a wbtb and do it a couple of times then it works really well

i don’t understand…
would’nt you need your ipod in your ears all day?

nope it works with out headphones just keep it with out headphones in your pocket and set to every hour our even every 10 minutes

what version of ipod do you have.
i have a 30GB video. 5th or 4th gen maybe.
i can only set one alarm on mine.

ah i have 5th gen video
and it sets infinite numbers

you know that each clock on your ipod can have a seperate alarm?

Is this alarm feature exclusive to the video iPods? I can’t find it in my iPod nano

should be there under clock.

the alarm is sometime under Extras as well. that’s where it is on my 3rd gen nano.

additionally some iPods can just beep as an alarm. it’s not very loud but it gets the job done.

Thanks, I found it. If someone doesn’t, it’s under Extras > Clock > (Select a clock or create one) > Alarm > … in the iPod nano. Put the sound to “beep” and you’re done.

Maybe this can also help in DILD. Just set your ~20 alarms for the day and 1 or 2 when you’re in REM sleep. Has anyone tried this? I suppose this would be only for deep sleepers, because the beep alarm is a bit noisy.

yep i broke my ipod recently but before that it was a very effective ipod

Just got the new ipod touch and it has different sounds for the alarm
so for example if you use the dog bark sound to RC everytime you hear a dog bark youll get used to RCing i find it better then the ipod video

This sounds like a good idea, i have a 5th gen ipod, but i really want a touch, almost got one today actually.

Ill have to try this!

Hey thanks for the reminder.

After much fiddling I found out what works on IPod 3G:

  • If you edit an alarm and set the time for later, even if it’s repeat setting is “Everyday” it seems like it won’t trigger again until next day, despite the time set into the future. That makes it look like it wasn’t working!

  • If you set the alarms (default seems to be Everyday and Beep sound), then you can shut it down (press+hold Play/Pause for 2 sec or so). It will switch itself on to play the alarm. Speakers not required for the “beep” sound.

  • IPod 3G with no speakers/earphones connected will play Beep sound regardless if you select a Playlist (seems logical, maybe the later models have a better built-in speaker that can play music?)

no I recently got the touch and it has different sounds like dark bark or bell tower
it is a perfect RC because every time I hear a dog bark I do an RC and when i hear it on my ipod i do an RC

and your welcome

just write reality check or a check mark on the back of your hands you see them like every five minutes you do like 30 rcs a day.
