I tend to disagree. Modern science has yet to figure out what causes dreams, or even what purpose they serve. Since we have nothing but theory to work with, it would be short-sighted to assume that we know anything at all about dreams for certain. Since up to 95 percent of the universe is unable to be detected by even the most state of the art scientific equipment (see “dark matter”), it is foolish to believe that things we can’t measure don’t exist. Personally, I think it is entirely possible that there are properties of the universe that the human mind would be more apt to perceive than, say, a barometer.
With this in mind, I recently adopted a more open mind to things such as astral or spiritual realms, psychic phenomena, and possibilities such as a soul including rebirth or afterlife experience. I’ve been doing a lot of research, and all of the esoteric ideas and theories seem to flow very seamlessly together. When taken as mere pieces of a whole, much larger concept, they suddenly begin to make a lot of sense, even to my rational mind.
For instance, dreams are believed by some to take place in the astral realm. People who claim to have traveled to the astral realm describe seeing dreamers unconsciously acting out dream scenarios. Also, several claim to have been able to view the Akashic Records (a somewhat metaphorical term for the total record of all collective memory of all souls), which is said to exist somewhere in the astral or subtle realms. Therefore, if all knowledge of all consciousness that ever existed or will exist (because time is supposedly a quality that we experience only in the physical realm) - if all of this stuff is accessible in the astral realm, where dreams take place, then it actually makes a lot of sense that one could absorb some random bits of collective experience through a seemingly normal dream.
The only difference between a highly skilled psychic’s method is that he or she will induce a trance in order to access the information purposefully. I experimented with meditation recently and while coming out of a trance accidentally had a clear and accurate premonition, which further confirmed my ever growing faith in the human mind. However, I don’t think that I ever would have had such an experience if I hadn’t made a conscious effort to open my mind a little and meet the “nonsense” halfway, so to speak.
Heihachi, I hope I helped clarify for you, how precognitive dreams at the very least could exist, even in a manner that does not conflict with scientific knowledge. We just don’t have the means to fully understand it, currently.
