Please very much tell me if simple Vipassana is totally sufficient for victory of WILD
if you do it with a thought or by repeating something whispering
for ex :
inhale, no thinking on purpose ,
exhale counting 1, 2, 3, 4
if you can go to 10 do that, or 7 ,
make them as slow or fast as it needs to be
you will be awake on the inhale and asleep on the exhale, it feels very good
but the gnostics recommend chanting a mantra while falling asleep, to go out of body

Breathing should work just fine; as long as you concentrate on something, that is what matters. Now, counting might be a bit easier as it helps keep your mind awake, where as I would be afraid of just falling asleep whilst focusing on breathing. Like Presence of Light said, combining the two can be pretty effective.
