Is this an OBE/AP?

Hey guys…I wanted to pose a little question thats been bugging me for the past few hours. I went for a nap before (it wouldn’t have been longer than 1 hour)

I’ll explain the basic dream process so that it makes sense:
I’m dreaming and then a DC does something to aggrivate me, and I shut the door behind him. The door then opens again and I say “Stupid DC, I should just take control and hurt him!” (I’m mentally fit, I swear! ). So then BOOM. It hits me…what control? This is a dream. The dream fades away into an emptyness of gray and then I begin to feel my body laying in bed. But it feels very very different. I feel very lightweight and as if Im full of light…and I begin to feel myself rise. Meanwhile, my body feels like its in the most weirdest position…almost like my arms and legs are in some really strange contorted state…
I didnt get far, I just felt a rising. The weird thing about it is that I had a feeling of both viewing myself and then being in myself. I dont know how to describe it…
I couldnt rise anymore, so then I just kind of gave in and then was back asleep…but I kept my lucidity. I was in some football field, different dreamstate…and I was trying to get my subconscious to talk to me but all I heard was this really beautiful music…then I woke up.
Sorry for the life story  , but I had to in order for it to make sense. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I personally think that lucid dreams and out-of-body experiences are the same thing. The similarities are too great for me to ignore. At the same time, I think dreams are much more “magical” than most scientists would admit - I don’t think they happen in our brains at all. :universe:

I think it’s something like tuning a radio to different stations… :music: You could be tuned into the real world or the dream world or somewhere in between - or maybe even a different world entirely.

Sorry if that doesn’t answer your question… But in any case, going from one dream to another to another like that is good stuff! :colgate:

Thanks! :content:

Yeah, I’m not convinced that OBE/AP’s are a separate catogory to that of lucid dreaming. Seeing that I came from a lucid dream then into that state, then back into lucid dreaming…it doesnt add up. Who knows…all I know is that experience was pretty freaky

yeah i dont understand what the difference between the dreamworld and the astral plane is, from the things ive heard its pretty much the same thing with different meanings

i think astral projection a lucid dreaming are 2 different things

Hi MissEvil,

I think that there are many possible and different states of consciousness under the same classification of “lucid dreaming”. It seems you experienced something which is not the classical LD, and which looks like what is called by some people “astral projection” or OBE.

As for me, I don’t like these terms cause they makes suppose that you’re really out of your body, that you travel for real in sort of real “astral planes”, etc. what I don’t believe in. Nevertheless I think it’s interesting to distinguish between the experiences. I just deplore that another name for it doesn’t exist.

Something that I belive is that when you are dreaming you are out of your body …when you lucid dream, your spirit gets higher, or to a different level of this kind of state. Maybe what happend to you is that you were being raised to another level of awareness, and another level of planes (astal planes) which i belive is the same place you are when your dreaming …again there are different levels and the hightest level…the light…god.

Thanks guys. :content: I think I’ll stand neutral on this one, because really, theres nothing certain to explain it away. There are many plausible theories, but I guess its each to their own. Im hoping I actually have another one of these…‘things’…because I tell you, its one weird but thrilling experience!
