I remember one night I was dreaming, it was a huge Vampire war. I got knocked down and I woke up in my room, and I found I was laying on my back. When I closed my eyes again it went immediately back into the dream. It was dark and I said once I opened my eyes it was going to be a dream. I opened my eyes with a dark skinned guy standing over me asking if I was alright, and picked me up to get back into the battle. So I knew immediately it was an LD. But I didn’t really go through any WILD stuff. It was a slight wbtb. Any thoughts? Much appreciated!
This sounds more like DEILD (a.k.a. chaining). Basically the point is to not move or move very little after exiting a dream so you can enter back into one very quickly. This can be a very effective way of inducing an LD so long as you keep your awareness up.
haha hmmm, but I wasn’t even trying. Barely aware. But interesting none the less. Thanks
That’s the great part of DEILD, you really don’t have to try, it just happens naturally . Sometimes you can just fall back into a regular dream, but if you’re paying attention it’s a lot easier to catch it.
Yeah I was having trouble though after I was trying to concentrate my body felt like it was shifting. It was weird…anywho, was a fun dream none the less
Man… i wish i got cool dreams nothing out of the ordinary happens in my dreams, it’s like real life …but a dream…which makes it really hard to spot something crazy to trigger a DILD.
I’ve done a DEILD from inside an NLD before. Actually, that was my first DEILD. I just waited in the blackness between waking and dreaming for a while (at that point I knew where I was, but when I decided to close my eyes and float in the fog in the NLD, I didn’t know it was a dream). I tried opening my eyes once, but knew I wasn’t ready. I waited a bit more, and finally flew forward when I felt ready and went into a dream. It’s pretty cool stuff sometimes.
Once I managed to get a dream character assisted chaining, when I noticed the dream was fading away, I told the DC that I could pass out. I woke up and chained into it and the DC was waiting for me to get up. It was very interesting.
However, in the first post there is no clue to tell us if you actually woke up or got a false awakening.
