I’ve had this (too) many times: I ‘awake’ in my room and instantly I know I’m dreaming. It may not even have anything to do with the fact my dreams never bother to get my room arranged right, I just ‘know’ I’m dreaming. Half the time I don’t bother with a RC, even though the plan is to do 3 of them when I find myself lucid. The only good indication of lucidity is the niggling thought in the back of my head that irl, what I’m about to would get me in trouble and maybe I should do the RCs just in case. I ignore it, refuse to do the RCs, and rush out of the room intent on ruining some Dream Character’s day for tricking me for so long.
So is this lack of temperance and caution a sign of low lucidity, or a personal shortcoming? (seems I turn into the devil in 0.2 seconds once I have absolute power and impunity.)
Why so? If you realize you are dreaming just like that, you should be happy If it seems enough to you to tell you’re dreaming, nothing wrong about it.
The “turning in to devil” thing is just some repressed emotions, vent it out on the DC’s and you’ll feel a lot better ^^ and remember to understand at the end of the dream why you did all that. It helps figuring out any issue you may have
Have fun!
I used to be very aggressive in some of my early lucid dreams. Sometimes I would just take it out on the DC’s present (especially if I was already in a fight with them before I became lucid). And I went on a massive killing spree once.
In my case it faded after I managed to become lucid a few times. I sometimes still have issues doing something I really want in an LD rather than just going with the flow, but that really depends on my personal motivation at that point. When I increase my lucidity I’m usually more in control of myself. So sometimes I take it easy when I become lucid and take a moment to think about what I want to do.
I don’t see how this is negative.
I’ve only had one dream in my entire lifetime where I became lucid by the use of a reality check, if I’m not mistaken.
This should be good news for you, because it means that your subconscious is aware enough that it can recognize dreams spontaneously.
If you really have control of yourself, you could try to settle down by breathing deeply and rubbing your hands with the intention of becoming more aware.
Sometimes, we’re not as lucid as we think
So, this is not a bad thing, it’s actually positive. Also, you could try to repeat your intentions before you fall asleep. In this case, that would be to remain calm once you are lucid and not to lose control. Good luck
Sometimes i suddenly know that all around me is a dream and I become lucid. It most of the times is low lucidity, however. And I never managed to stay lucid this way.
