just needing some opinions

hi guys. i’m droo. i just recently started lucid dreaming and i’ve already had 1 so far but i got to excited and woke up soon after. i’m usually really good at recalling dreams but this morning i woke up for the first time EVER with no recollection of a dream at all. is that even normal? it really scared me, i’m not even sure what to write in my dream journal about it, do i just write…

I have no recollection of a dream whatsoever.

(this just feels so weird to me.)

don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal :grin: and it doesn’t mean anything.

I find sometimes it happens to me when I have little or disturbed sleep. I think it might also happen with stress and things like that.

it more normal to not remember your dreams than to remember them.

also, if you have no dream reccolection, just don’t put anything in your dj, no one else does :grin:

Please don’t confuse normal with common. Not only in this discussion but in life. Alot of things are common, or commonly experienced. Definitely wouldn’t say ADHD or Depression are normal, just common. By the way, that was just an example. I know you never said they were…

Do a reality check!

About writing it in your DJ, I guess it’s pretty much what you want, it depends on your mindset. For some people who tend to be more pessimistic, recording days with no recall makes them feel bad. For others (like me) it’s a way to keep track of your dreams and such. You could just edit a previous post and put it down, instead of creating a new reply in your DJ (in case you’ve got an online one here in LD4All, for example).

Well, i would suggest going through a list of your common dreamsigns. This will work well if you normally list them.
That can help you remember a dream!
Also what helps me is lying doqn for awhile, sometimes you get flashes of fragments, and you can write that down.

If none of that works, just write down what you did yesterday, you probably dreamed of one aspect of your day, and anyway, its a good habit to get into to write key points of your day, it normally correlates with your dreams i find.

Hope the above hleps you, and dont get worried, ive not had the best recall the last few days, yet last night it was great. Its an up and down thing.

Not that I wish to get into a discussion on semantics, but I feel that something being normal means that it is common. Something that “everybody” can relate to. Perhaps “common” is weaker than that though. Still, I’d say most people remember very few of their dreams. Certainly more common than ADHD and depression. Permit me to lighten the mood with an emoticon! I’m a bit rusty but here we go: B-}
