Hello! First post and all that without going into (hardly) any details, i keep losing my Hypnagogic imagery whilst WILDing. I tried a few mins ago, got a few strange feelings, and some rather active imagery, then it stopped without me doing anything. What am i doing wrong?
IT might be that you focused too much on the HI which woke you up completely. IT has happened to me too. But you will learn through trial and error . Dont give up
I agree with Jaxal. You haven’t really explained what exactly you’re doing while WILDing, but next time, try to keep an observer’s perspective to the HI, instead of a participant’s one. It might also be the result of being too focused on the strange bodily effects. The deeper your WILD experience gets, the more you should be shifting your waking awareness to a dream awareness (for instance by visualizing a dream scenario from first person perspective).
I could’ve been focusing too hard >_< Yesterday, i tried it, imagining i was standing on a pier, or just a wooden plank thing. The waves were lashing up around me and in the middle of the water was a massive tower-like structure etc. etc. That was my thoughts whilst listening to an Mp3 of waves, seagulls and a strange horn in the background. That progressed me quite far, to the point of feeling like my body was sinking, and i was getting some strange twitches in my legs.
You already complaining? how much time do you have practising WILD? i’ve been practincing for about 10 months since christmas and i haven’t done anything more than HI and some poor vibrations.
Well you have only a little bit of time practicing; maybe you’re more lucky than i am and get a succesful WILD pretty soon. But trust me, it’s just discipline, spirit, and a mind of accomplisment.
Ok the problem i was having is that of me trying to WILD in the night; without success because i had to wait a long trip only to reach at least the small vibrations/HIs.
These days im taking it to better platform, im trying to wake up in the morning like 5pm or so and start counting so i can get a better and faster WILD.
Now my problem now is that im so tired which is good partially, that i lose the counting and my thoughts overwhelm me to the point where i enter the dream and i only remember when i woke up from it. I only remember the last dream at the very end being kind of a ld. But i do get the soft vibrations and the constand wavy HIs.
Other thing i didn’t say is that in order to get the HIs faster and the dream, you have to think in something partially and with the other half of the thinking, count from a small quantity of numbers. So what i have to do i think, is to really have a will of counting after i wake up…
I wish I could help more, but I can’t. I wasted 6 months trying WILD, and only had one brief experience with it. If you continue to lose your imagery, I’d suggest trying a new technique. It’s funny, most people think that MILD is a lesser technique, but in fact, it’s the one Stephen LaBerge uses.
I have to say that so far, WILD has been very successful with me. I am completely satisfied with the number of LD s i have induced. I tried the suneye technique, but i stopped it after one night coz my thinking is “stick with what works”.
I know WILD isn’t really for me but i want to have at least one real WILD experience as a goal and then if it doesn’t really works for me then i’ll stick with MILD i think.
I try wild too , my problem is that i just fall asleep (i think )
I lay down , try , and wake up the next morning remembering just a minute or so after feeling something strange.
What am i doing wrong?
Should i try mild?
well, you could try a (music aided)WILD in the morning, if you wake up early, you can put some music on or start counting, you’re allmost sure to get HI and (maybe) starting SP i got that the first 2 nights i tried it:o, i allso have the fact that i just fall asleep, but the musical aided WILD somewhat works, i just fall asleep, i’ll try listening somewhat harder or setting the music a bit harder it’ll work some day:D
hehe, i don’t put the music that loud, just so loud that you don’t fall asleep so easily
allso, if you put the music to loud, you’ll have severe trouble sleeping, i had the music on too loud today and it kept me awake till like 3:00 am, or so it seems
