I’ve kept track of my dreams and am aware of a few symbols or people that would work well as dreamsigns. I should also mention that I have good dream recall and can remember just about all of my dreams. Usually have about 2 or 3 per night.
However, I’m having trouble bringing my knowledge with me into my dreams. It seems like my dreams are movie-like, where I play a passive role rather than an active one. My motives and actions seem like my own but it seems like I’m remembering something that happened more than participating in it, if that makes sense.
I have had a few LDs a while back but haven’t had any recently. Anyone have any techniques or suggestions to improve my dream memory? Thanks so much!
I don’t know what techniques you were using up to now, but a few that would work to remember your dreamsigns are autosuggestion and MILD. In both you repeat to yourself “next time I see [enter dreamsign], I will realise I am in a dream”. With MILD, you also visualise that you become lucid during a recent dream (preferrably one which included your chosen dreamsign). You can also add to this doing RC’s during the day if you ever see any of your dreamsigns IRL, so you could carry this over into your dreams. If you keep going, one of these days you should recognise a sign and at least start doubting if you are awake or not. Just believe that with practise you will become lucid again. Good luck .
Yeah, you’re right Xetrov. I think I need to work more actively on trying to remember dreamsigns within a dream. It just feels like I have no control over my dreams sometimes. Hopefully this will trigger something. Thanks
