Hey all!
I didn’t really know where on earth to put THIS post …but, anyways, do any of you guys have fantastic dream dictionaries that you can recommend to me? I’m looking for one that is big (LOTS of pages in other words ), colorful, right a lot of the time, and has somewhat specific terms/definitions. I also want one that has positive (and it has to have negative anyways ), and I want it to give advice. BTW, I have one by Russell Grant called the “Illustrated Dream Dictionary”, but it ain’t even close to being big enough. Also, I was thinking of getting “In Your Dreams: The Ultimate Dream Dictionary.” Thanx!
I believe you much better off looking for books that help interpreting dreams, avoid those which give you ready explanation.Look for ones that will show you how to interprete them from your own point of view.
Dreams are strictly personal and subjective i consider dream dictionaries similar to horoscopes. Can read one but more for fun than knowledge.
Good luck.
ps.As to books which can help understanding dream contents and are as well about lucid dreaming there is The Sun And The Shadow by Kenneth Kelzer.Very good, informative read:)
I agree with Jack.
Dream dictionaries can be very black and white, and really, the only person who can say what our dreams mean is the one who had the dream
I recommend that you learn about interpreting your own dreams, rather than getting a dream dictionary.
Nonetheless, it’s always nice to have a symbol dictionary (look for those in book shops). They can give you some insight on the origins and the various possible meanings of stuff that shows up on your dreams. It’s always a neat reading.
Also, if you’re going to buy one, try to interpret your dreams on yourself before reading the definitions, in order not to spoil your own view on the dream, which obviously matters more than a book author’s view on a symbol.
Ya’ll,
Thanx for your imput. I’m straying a bit from getting a dictionary or interpretations of my dreams…I don’t think I want it THAT BAD…and besides…learning more on how to LD is MUCH more worth while…don’t u think? Anyways, I am a fan of Stephen LaBerge’s book, “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming” and I want to get “Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide To Awakening In Your Dreams and In Your Life”…would it be a waste of time to get this? Is it just like “Exploring” just shorter??? It has a CD with techniques and daytime exercises to induce LDs and I would REALLY want that. What do you guys think about that?
The second book is like a condensed version of EWLD, but it does have some new information, and the CD it comes with is an excellent learning tool. I’d recommend both books
Hey ya’ll!!! I’ve made up my mind…well…sort of. I bought a Stray Cats CD ! BTW, WHAT are the exercises on the CD? What do they say EXACTLY? I read that there is an exercise you do that can TRIGGER LDs at night. What IS it? I’d very much appreciate it! Thanx!
