So wait, see if I got it right. I get points for every answer I get to my question. And I get points for interacting with DC’s differently. Additional questions I ask a DC are counted as a new way to interact with a DC? (Or asking any other questions, no matter how many, counts as ONE of the ways?
hmmm that’s interesting. I don’t feel like I trust my DCs enough to ask them questions…I think I will ask them:
edit "Show me my symbol "
Who knows I could even summon some characters to ask them the question…
Ok I feel like summoning the 2 girls, the man and the dobermann I saw before, also my friend A. (hopefully with clothes on this time), Fujimoto and his wife “GMM”
Do you think it’s ok ?
I want to ask those DC’s about the future. More specifically, I want to ask what my life would be like on June 16, 2010.
It is a day after the school year ends, and I’m looking forward to the summer since I’ll be able to get enough sleep then.
It counts as one.
Discussing about many topics = still discussing, counts as one approach.
Summon many DC’s = still only summoning, thus only one approach.
You gotta be inventive for this one, show me something new! ^^
I think I’ll ask, “What makes you happy?” It’s pretty open-ended, not too difficult to remember, and might spark some unexpected responses. Since DCs are aspects of yourself, perhaps their answers will ring true to me, too.
All of this, of course, assuming I actually have an LD - my dream recall’s down and some nights I get so little sleep I wonder if I even entered REM cycle. To help improve recall, I think I’ll post ALL my dreams, even my most boring normal ones, in my dream journal here over the duration of the competition. I look forward to reading everyone else’s dreams as well! Good luck!
OK, a question you say?
Well…
Hey, maybe I could ask them who they are! YEAH! And what their name is and stuff. And if they work, or go to school! AWESOME!
Excited now. DO you see what you’ve done to me tosxyChor? Youve made me excited and now I want to sleep so badly!
XD
Well done, you have given me the gift of inspiration!
I’m very glad to hear the excitement about this
Only remember a thing, at night you still have to get asleep and from personal experience, it can get hard if a thought won’t leave my mind,
so when you go to bed, just state what you want to do once or twice, then relax and count your breaths, or meditate. The intention will come up in dreams all the same.
My Question will be “what is your role here?” and its gonna be interesting to see what he answers with
I am really looking forward to this! I’ll ask the DCs what their first memory is.
My question will be “Who/What am I?” I’m sure that will get some interesting responses.
/me hopes his DC’s are wise enough not to say something stupid
So my question is going to be, “Can you give me a clue as to where my library is hidden.” I figure after enough clues I might have a better idea of how to locate my library. I still don’t understand completely how the scoring works, but I figure I will submit my first result, and see how this goes.
I took a nap after I got home from work. Set the alarm for 2hrs 45mins from time I laid down.
** dream begins **
I slip into a dream, it is a vague third person dream, I do not realize I am dreaming. There is a news caster doing a report on a band. The band people are in my field of view. One of them is making a joke of some sort, and reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bunch of candy bars. As the dream becomes more clear I finally realize that I’m actually dreaming. I wake up.
I chain back into lucid-ness. I am in the same scene, but there is only one of the band members standing there. The full feeling of lucid-ness confused me for some reason. The band member sticks out his tongue, I reach out and poke him in the cheek with my finger. He gives me a weird look, as if to say, “Umm, what was that for?!?” I know for sure I am dreaming. I take the lucid moment to ask my question:
Rare: Do you mind if I ask you a question?
DC: Sure no problem go ahead.
(seems surprised that I would ask first)
<stumble with thought, for some reason the exact wording escaped my mind>
Rare: Umm, where would I have hid my library, if it were, you know, umm, hidden.
<I speak better with my mind and send a telepathic message : You understand what I am asking, a clue, right?>
The dream character smirks, gives me another “silly dreamer” look, and then inhales a lot of air, his cheeks getting larger, and his face filling up my dream-vision. He blows the air out at me and I wake up.
** I am rather alert now, about an hour and a half from when I originally went to bed, I get up instead of chaining to more. **
My question will be, “Do you know why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?”
Happy lucids everyone.
EDIT: As funny as that question is, I feel a better question would simply be to ask what time it is. I suppose I’ll save the former for another time.
Anyway! Time for bed!
I’m very curious as to my DC’s sense of time.
my question is going to be: how do I get to Slumberland? i’m excited at what the answers will be, and what other ways i can interact with DCs.
I did it !
Here it is:
I look at my hands and make suure that I’m dreaming, I have 8 fingers each hand.
I remember the task pretty rapidly and go downstairsm open my dors and see few DCs.
I ask one of them:“Where is God?”
he answers:“Everywhere…somewhere…”
I ask from the group to paint a portrait of me, they do a WTH? face and the dream fades…
Wow it was so funny! the dream was something like 1min-2min let’s say 60sec…
Note: As a constant reminder to the fact this is supposed to be a challenge against yourself, points awarded will be all whited out, except for the bonus points awarded personally by me. Of course, you are free to have a look at others’, but this should make you remember that the point of the challenge is more to learn and practice than to compete.
For the record, I’m participating too on an unofficial level, I’ll have my points counted in my DJ for anyone who’s interested.
Rare, grats for the early LD! You also gotta report how long the dream lasted, but I can guess it was in the 1min-4 min range. So, for now, that would be | (30 + 5 chain) LD points + (0+10) task + 30 lucid task + 20 early = 95 points! |. If you feel the DC told you something by doing that, I guess it can count as an answer too ^^ Just tell me.
idaln09, congratulations! That will be | 30 LD points + (30+10) task + 30 lucid task + 20 early = 120 points!! |
You see points rack up fast by doing the tasks, so be sure to spend your lucids wisely!
Tip of the day:
Its a bit long to post here, so please go here to read it.
Anyone welcome to read. I need to comments. XD
Congratulations everyone who did it (or who’s going to do it). I had great dream recall tonight, but none of them was a lucid. I guess I’ll take a nap today and see how it goes.
congrats everyone ! I had to wake up at 5am this morning to take the train and go back to my flat, so no time to sleep really or note anything in my DJ, but tomorrow I’ll have the morning to induce an LD !
And…I’m changing the question for the last time…but I feel like I don’t have enough interest in symbols…
So I decided that next time I go to bed to dream, my question for this task will be: “what gift do you want to give me ?”
I find this more interesting
Congratulations JazzleDazzle, your 3rd LD on the very first day of the competition!
I need to know how much the whole dream lasted (counting only the time you spent while lucid, all chains count as one single dream), plus, how many chains do you remember? They add up to the score (be sure of listing only those you clearly remember).
About the task alone, that would be | color=#e4ecee task + 30 lucid task + 20 early = 120 points. |
You get points for each seperate LD a night, right? Even without doing the tasks everytime?
