LC #24, Final Task: Make Dream Characters Lucid!

Final task? wow that is short…

I know, it really feels that way to me too! Bummer that I have not been able to get lucid for a week and a half now

Meh, one lucid moment yesterday and another the day before.
But I’ll complete the last task as well, I’m determined to :content:

[community.ld4all.com/t/siiws-15th-book-of-dreams/32688/11)

I had two medium long LDs. There were two dream characters from LD4all, but both seemed to already know. I did manage to make a coworker lucid in the dream, and she enjoyed the flying. I was also swimming, by somply floating on top of the water and letting the current take me away.

Nice dreams Siiw!
But medium-long? Do you want 35 points for those? It would help Wyvern if you clarified on that one.

i meant medium length :cool_raz: “medium long” is a norwegian expression, i guess

Finally another LD! :hurray:
And I did remember the last task and most of all to confront a scary situation instead of running from it!
I was in an ND at a friend’s house (no idea who it was) when one of his kids started pointing at me and laughing, saying that I was walking around without panties on. I had been aware of it, but it took my ND dream character to point that out to me in order to become lucid. :bored: When it dawned on me what was happening I started jumping up and down with joy, saying I’m dreaming, I’m lucid, I’m dreaming! YES! Finally! I was in the hallway when I became lucid and the outside door was right across from me, and slightly ajar. I went outside; it looked like it was late afternoon around sunset time. I jumped up, arms spread out with the intention of flying away when PLOP, I landed face-down on the ground. That surprised the heck out of me! I said to myself, “Well that’s what you get for reading forums where members tell you that they have a hard time flying, your mind starts doubting.” So I told myself that I never had any problems flying and that I wasn’t having any problems now either. I jumped up and felt myself go upward when all of a sudden something grabbed my left arm and yanked me down again. I felt something sharp on my arm turned my head to see what it was. Well, I have no idea why I didn’t scream or panic, but there was a huge jaw with gnarly teeth locked unto my arm. Attached to that jaw was a pretty scary looking creature. It’s huge head was dark gray and black with smooth slick leathery skin. It looked like a cross between that huge “dog” in Avatar, and one of the creatures in Alien. (funny, both movies have Sigourney Weaver in them). For a second there I was frozen… but then I remembered my intention to not run away the next time something scary happens, but to face it. I turned around and with my free hand started stroking the vicious head and looking at it. It had very soft and smooth skin, and while I was petting it I was telling it how soft it was and how nice. Pretty soon it let go of my other arm and it became all mellow. It was then that I noticed it’s body. It looked like a huge black leathery snake. I told the creature, “Seeing as you are here in my dream, might as well make use of you.” I sat on it’s back, it was very comfortable, and told it to fly away. The creature had a hole in the back of it’s neck, kind of like a breathing hole that whales or dolphins have, only gnarlier looking. We took off into the air, and I remembered that the next time I was in a dream, I would look and observe details more. I started watching the clouds beneath me, they were swirling and thinning out, as if I were watching them being fast forwarded. The houses which we flew over were built out of wood and colorful, like the ones here in Hawaii. Everything looked very real. By now the sun was setting and everything was getting this beautiful orange glow to it. Still a bit of blue remained in the sky. We were flying over trees when my foot got scraped by the branches of one of them (LOL, it actually hurt!). It was then that I noticed that we were losing altitude, and that the creature had gotten a lot smaller. When we landed it had gotten even smaller and it collapsed on the ground. I told it to rest and stay there while petting it. I then gave it a name, Anook. The street we had landed in looked very familiar. It seemed like the place from my previous lucid dream, in which I had ended up in Pennsylvania with a bunch of witches. I saw that same saloon, and decided to go inside again. It looked different but similar. There were paintings on the wall from earlier times (little house on the prairie days). There was an older fellow sitting on a barrel in the hallway right before bar entrance. I looked at him and remembered the task. I smiled and happily told him that I was lucid. He looked at me and said that it showed, that I was looking very bouncy and energetic. He started jumping and moving his arms up and down, as if he were mimicking me. I laughed and went into the bar; there were a lot of people were present. A woman walked up to me and asked if I wanted some hot coffee, and I replied “Yes please!” There seemed to be only one table in the room, but it was huge and round. I found an empty chair and sat down. Next to me sat a very pretty young woman, with short blond hair. She looked Dutch, and I felt that she was. Her accent confirmed it. I looked at her and told her that I was dreaming, but that I was lucid and that she was part of my dream. Then I touched her arm telling her that it did not mean that she wasn’t real. I told her that real life was nothing but a dream as well, and and the people living in it all thought they were real because they didn’t realize life was only a dream. She told me she did not mind being a dream. A leery looking guy walked up to her and started stroking her hair and arm, and I asked her if she didn’t mind him doing that. She said no, he was harmless. I definitely told him not to touch me however, and glared when he tried to. He didn’t, and left to go outside. I told a joke about him staying out there and everyone laughed. I lost lucidity and woke up.
The LD lasted I think about 10 minutes, so medium LD. I think the guy on the barrel was lucid already seeing as he didn’t react strangely to me telling him that I was (like a normal DC would) I didn’t make the girl lucid seeing as she didn’t mind being a dream character.
I never did get to drink my hot coffee though. Got to tell that lady next time to be a bit quicker! I am wondering what this place in Pennsylvania is all about, and whether or not I will end up there more frequently.

Well, motivation sagged near the end. :meh: But I’m glad for the lucids I got during this challenge. Thanks for all your hard work Wyvern

Great dream, KauaiiDreamer! Do you think you’ll meet Anook again in the future? ^^

As for me, I did manage in completing the last task, but I forgot the dream :bored: so whatever, a lucid moment for that one. Plus another I had in a different WBTB. But whatever, I did manage to complete every task, so I’m satisfacted :content:

Thank you Wyvern for this great Challenge you organized. It actually aided me a lot in gaining motivation to get longer and more focused LD’s, and this improvement will stay with me now. So thanks again for this wonderful opportunity.

one very short LD or lucid moment(?) for me today …I woke up from a dream in the middle of night and thought what a shame it was that I wasn’t lucid XD
I just turned to other side to continue sleeping, but I clearly saw someone running up the stairs right away so I followed them and couldn’t believe it came co quickly - it was like I stepped into a dream immediately…I did a reality check on my way and well, yes, I was definetely dreaming. Unfortunately I woke up as soon as I reached top of the stairs :meh:

though it makes me wonder whether I really was awake before this dream…because it was just too fast o.O
but I don’t have false awakenings in normal dreams, only in LDs as far as I know…I’m confused D: what do you think?

Same here! Thanks Wyvern, it was fun. I sure hope to get better at this in the near future!
Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much in Hawaiian) :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip: :tulip:

Ok, Wyvern will display the scores in some days; while we wait, it’s sure time for another LC to be organized; and I will be busy for the entire month of July, so I’m incapacitated about organizing a LC during this period. For this reason, Rhewin is free to go on and be the next TM for the LC #25, and if he doesn’t want then the 3rd scored will be offered to, and so on.

In any case, anyone can pay me a visit if he/she ever needs some tips about organization of such a thing, I’ll be here

Ok then, the next challenge will begin shortly after the final tally has been posted. I look forward to seeing you all there. It’s been fun, and thank you Wyvern for one heck of an LC :content:.
