Meet a fictional character

We have all read books and stories, watched films and shows, and played games about fictional characters. Many of us have created their own characters in role playing games or stories. Some characters are very well described, while we have to make up our own mental image of some.

This month’s quest is to find or summon one of those characters. Maybe you have a favourite? Even if you know what they look like, do you know what they for example sound like? What would you talk with them about, or ask them about?

To find the character, you could:

  • Expect them to be behind the next door or corner
  • Expect them to be behind you
  • Walk up to a person who is too far away to be recognised, and imagine it’s the character you want to see
  • Look up their number and call them
  • Find out or remember where they live or work, and visit them there

To complete this Quest and earn your wings

  • Become lucid :wink:
  • Find a fictional character
  • Interact with the character and get an impression that isn’t in the original story/film/game
  • Post your dream in this topic (a link to your DJ is allowed but you have to post in this topic that you have succeeded)

Please be very clear if you feel you have completed the Quest or want to try again - Q will only give wings if you feel you have been successful in completing the Quest, the wings are a reward for yourself.

pasQuale will give everyone who earned it their wings at the end of this Quest, so please be patient

Preparations/Incubation
Before going to sleep or while doing your LD incubation technique (WILD/WBTB/MILD, etc):

  • Set your mind for this Quest
  • Imagine meeting your favourite character
  • Read, watch or play the work of fiction where the character appears

Lol I had actually done this last night. I had just finished reading The Son of Neptune and decided to dream up some of the characters and you know…just do stuff :smile:. We talked for a bit and just kind of hung out. unfortunately I had to get up to go to school right in the middle of the dream, so I didnt get to do much. If all goes well i’ll dream it earlier so I can do more.
Well tats really all for that dream…usually I do a lot more, but like I said, I had school.

i dont think this counts since i wasnt lucid when this happened, but i’ve been writing a novel and for days i’ve been working on this secondary character. Well, he appeared in my dream more vivid and realistic than i had ever thought of him in waking life. He was exactly how i imagined him in appearance but his attributes were different. For one thing, he had the ability to turn invisible with this kind of invisibility cloak and this weird blue ball :peek: . He told me that the blue ball was what was helping him turn invisible, and that the more he used it, the more energy from the ball would get absorbed into him, and eventually he wouldn’t need the ball. He tried teaching me how to turn invisible but i could never get it right until this one moment when a car was about to hit me. I turned invisible right before i got hit. I was so excited but the boy was freaking out :bored:
Oh did i mention he was CUTE??? i think i fell in love with a Dream character !!! :sigh:

But i will definetly try to LD from now on when i need to develop my characters more!!

definately gotta try this one out, I havnt had much luck getting lucid for a while though!! :grrr:

Yay, finally a quest that was easy to me!
I’m quite a fan of a tv series called Supernatural, and because I watch it so much, sometimes characters appear in dreams. So I just had to plan on doing an rc everytime I aaw my favorite character.
So in an ND I was in a city and there he was! I did an RC and was immediately lucid. So I told him how much I liked him and asked him if he would ever return to the series (he died on tv). He said he would return one last time.
The best part is that the next day the actor who plays him announced that he’d be in the series for one, final time. MY DREAM WAS RIGHT. Yay!

I was thinking of the Mad hatter, but I would like to meet some of the crew from Star trek-The next generation, and even face the omnipotent Q. I think Data among others would make for very interesting conversation too!! but if I had to choose one, well that would be a difficult choice to make. commander Riker is pretty cool :cool: and I have always thought that counseller Troy is an all round beautiful women…maybe if I can get lucid and onto the Enterprize I could meet most of them. After all, they are all interesting beings in their own way!

Great idea! I often have dreams (though not lucid ones) where I meet fictional characters, so this shouldn’t be too hard to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to become lucid this month so I can meet Totoro :tongue: Him, or the Warden or Jailbot from “SuperJail”, or Link, or Wheatley or Glados, or my favorite pokemon, etc, etc.

Hurray! I did it! Although I’m not too sure about the last bit… Last night I became lucid pretty easily, and when I did, I remembered that I had to do something, but I forgot what exactly and I didn’t want to think too much as I feared I would lose lucidity. I did remember soon after, however, that I had to meet a fictional character. So off I went in search of the Warden, the first character that came to my mind >>The Warden<< I eventually came across a lone house, and standing in front of it was… someone. I couldn’t really tell who it was. I kinda wanted it to be him, and I could see some of his features forming on the man, but I told myself I wanted to see him behind the house’s front door, so I just passed by him and proceeded to knock on the door. The man came up behind me and told me he wasn’t home, but right behind me. I turned around to see it really was the Warden standing there. I was kind of disappointed that he wasn’t behind the door like I wanted, but I just told myself that at least he was here.

I really don’t remember much about what happened next, except that we both went to visit the warden from Ultraprison (the Warden’s rival in the show) to try and get back on good terms with her. And for some reason, she was wearing an old french-style gown with the fan and the hat and the everything. Not too sure where exactly she was going… :meh:

I’m not sure if I should consider this as a “completion” of the quest. I mean sure, I became lucid and met a fictional character (4 out of the 5 ways which were suggested we could meet them, even), but I’m not certain by the fact that I couldn’t clearly remember the time I spent with him.

So I’ll try again, but if I can’t do it by the end of the month, I’ll very well consider this as a victory :smile:

Definitely!! I wanted to meet him last night, but I thought of the Warden first, so meh :meh: But I’ll definitely try to meet link this time around! :happy:

I didn’t know about this quest yet, but i had completed just a few days ago. My favorite show has become Doctor Who. Mainly the newer series and especially the Tenth Doctor.

I fell asleep to a few episodes, I find if i do that it makes it a lot easier with the outside stimulus. Sure enough I had a Dream that I had something to do with Torchwood an Captain Jack was coming out of some sort of stasis. Then me and Jack went in search of the Doctor, who we found eventually. He was in this really big bookstore or Library not sure which. While there I met Amy Pond and Donna. Amy had just happened to be there and had no clue who the Doctor was yet and Donna was busy following the Doctor through the aisles as he was on some sort of quest. I kept trying to talk to the Doctor but he was very busy with whatever he was looking for so i chatted with Donna a short bit. I finally did track the Doctor down he had stopped a bench with an arm full of envelopes, cards a pen and a bunch of different coins that looked to be from different eras. I never got a chance to ask him what he was doing because I began to focus too much, but I did get to tell him how much i appreciated his Character before i awoke.

Then the next day I had a dream in which I became lucid and once i did I knew i wanted to see the Doctor. So I called him allowed in the dream mutiple times thinking it while saying it. As if on que i heard the sound of the Tardis and it appeared out of nothing and the Doctor showed himself. The dream became very unstable very quick though cause i pushed it to hard and thought too much. However, there is something to be said for just getting to see and hear the Tardis appear. :smile:

…Hmmm hang with the flock of Maximum Ride or fight off hollows with random Bleach characters…or have it all come together then watch a Victorious rehersal or WWE match and chill afterwards. :content:

Does this “fictional” character have to be from a figment of your imagination? Do actors/celebs in a movie count? I want to take part in this quest. :smile:

A character in a movie would count since siiw mentioned it at the top of the post.

Last night I had a LD and decided to meet Maggie Evans from Dark Shadows. I consider it a success! I learned she is quite compassionate about animals, at least, my SC made her that way. :lol:

Hi, just incase I get lucid, sounds like a cool quest, I’d want to meet Ged from the Earthsea trilogy :content: .
Just to clear up one of the tasks:
Interact with the character and get an impression that isn’t in the original story/film/game.

What would this be, information that could have been left out? a certain point of view?
