Le Parkour

A new urban discipline/sport, originally created in france by traceurs Sebastian Foucan and David Belle. I have been practicing this for several months now, and I am curious to see if anyone else does it on this forum. If not, and you are interested in starting, here is a link to the site that started me off

My brother and I will be putting out a video demonstraiting our skills within a month or so, so I will probably be posting a link to it here

We have a few members in the chatroom talk about this before. I know one was KidXS.

Wow i love this! A program called Jump Britain came on a few months ago (but i still think jump London was better) and was so good! It had Sebastian in it and i think david, not too sure…

I would love to try this but i’d probably be the only one in the area … sigh Anyway would love to see your video!

no, jump britan was the french traceurs (without Belle) and Urban freeflow, and jump london was sebastian and the other two (again, not Belle) I’m still waiting for jump britan to come out on DVD

I’m filming my video today, so give me a week and I’ll be done

(by the way, it doesn’t matter if your the only one in your area, I was, until I got my brother into it)

Just to ease my confusion. You just run around grab things and do tricks off of them and stuff. I am very confused. I didn’t read any discriptions, I just looked at some pictures.

see, that’s what most people think, but really it’s a way to get around faster and with more flow. think of this, there is a wall blocking your path, now, instead of going around it, you would go over it. with diligent practice, the goal is to be able to do it in such a fluid way that it seems like it doesn’t take any effort. that’s the basic jist of it

hmm… i might just start this up! I already run up things and find other ways to approaching going over things, just for the hell of it… i think i’ll watch a few video to learn some basic techniques so i don’t injure myself though before i start…

Oh and Sebastian makes it look so easy and would approach obstacles in ways i just would never think to.

Anyways can’t wait to see your video! Do you have any more links to other video i can see?

yeah, here is a forum on urban freeflow:

p202.ezboard.com/furbanfreeflowfrm27?page=1

there are freerunners all over the world that post there, and I’ll post mine in a day or so, or maybe today, who knows

here we go, just a preview of what is to come.

It’s my brother and me. I’m the one in the grey T-shirt, and my brother has the scally cap

I’ll be fully done in a week or so

A faster way of getting around? Can I try doing this with a car? Because on land, it doesn’t get much quicker than that.

yeah, see, you’re missing the point. it’s essentially a way to get around that is faster than walking, but in truth, to those who practice it, it is their art. if you say, “that’s not art, it’s just jumping around.” then I would like you to watch a video of sebastion Foucan:

notice his flow, and how easily he moves, it’s a beautiful sight
