little confused about brain waves

is your brain in theta waves when your in a dream state?
im just a little curious about these waves… do they only exist within animal/human brains?
or do they exist else where, like radio waves? i had a thought… if that was the case, could they be recorded by some sorta video camera? i know eggs can record the brain in a sense… but yeah im just very curious if these waves float around and stuff, ty for reading and sharing in my thoughts

I have a headband with sensors that can messure brain waves, but the signals are so weak that you don’t even see a signal just a few mm from your skin. So I doubt it can be detected. Especially considering the signal strength would get 4*pi^2 times smaller each time you double the distance, you would need an extremely sensitive huge antenna to measure anything at all and the noise would probably be many times stronger. But I’m no expert on brainwaves, so maybe I’m mistaken.

I’m almost positive you have alpha brain waves during rem sleep

Your braing emits theta waves when you are in REM sleep and are connected to dream state sleep. Im not sure if they actually exist in other things but there are sounds such as binaural beats that can cause your brain to emit these waves
