Logical Part of the Brain?

When i got to sleep and im certain time i start to get these random-non sense- stupid- thoughts. Is that the when the logical part of the brain is shutting down?

I don’t know for sure, but it probably is. Can you give me some examples?

Hmm :eh: Well i hardly can’t remember but are just strange.

Yes, I’d assume so. It usually takes me some time (if realise at all) that the thoughts are stupid, so I’d say yah - yes it is.

IMO, we have always these sort of stupid thoughts, even during waking time. We just make a sort between thoughts, choose those which seems more logical and more familiar, and assume these choosen thoughts are “ours”.

During sleep certain neurotransmitters block the critical thinking part of the brain, hence the “stupid me” in dreams, and hence it’s rather hard to get a LD (all the time). This can probably already happen when you begin to fall asleep.

Hehe, the interesting part about these “pre-sleep thoughts”, is that whenever you realise what nonsense you think about, you forget straight away what it was … you just remember it was stupid.

Like these connections between things, typical example of it would be: “me jumping around, singing to people, wearing red perty dress on a funeral” … something like this, something very absurd …
But these were imaginary, I also get those nonsense thoughts like …hmm this is really hard to capture, they would simply look like they make a complete sense … but they would be like: “If I hit a stone with a bone, I will write a really good novel and be famous” … this kind of LOGICAl thoughts I get hehe…

Yeah i get those thoughts before i sleep they are usually when i first get into bed before REM sleep, most of teh time though i realize iam thinking these crazy thougths i get jerked back into a logical train of thought

I do remember having one thought about killing crows with grapes.

Other than that I usually hear these strange thoughts in other people’s voices. I can’t remember any of those though.

That’s when the connexion between prefrontal cortex and other parts of the brain weakens during sleep. You do no more make relations between acts or thoughts and your “self”. Same problem in schizophrenia.

I’ve noticed when I’m sleepy if I try not to think of my thoughts they become very random. In my head I’ll be listing things for no reason and they seem to come from nowhere. Maybe it’s my sub-concious

once I was really tired, and I had to read a book for a test the next day. So while I was reading, it was in the voice of Samuel L. Jackson.

Once while in that state I proved that the sequence of TV images entering the brain would diverge and cause the brain to explode. i woke up swearing that i’ll never watch TV anymore. Of course the next day when i got up I turned the TV on
