When you can make someone beleve something you have power, when you can make someone beleve anything you have absolute power over that person. On its self thats not a problem the problem arises when someone uses that power and causes suffering by doing so.
Suffering not only arises from misuse of power to some extend it is inherent to human nature. The most efficient solution to prevent this suffering was develloped by the eastern traditions i think. The way they look at it is that:
the self is born out of confusion when this confusion ends the self dissolves, then there is no one who is aware, there is only awareness and experience happening within awareness.
Æzen that’s called mind control… one of the worst things that has happened to society. most people are still asleep and need to be woken up so they actually listen to themselves!
but actually more and more people are starting to wake up so it’s only a matter of years before something exciting starts happening to everyone. for me, it’s already started
I am really touched by your post and your honesty…
I am born in a Hindu family and have been raised a Hindu with an openmind to all relegion… I have been thaught that there is ONLY GOd meaning that every thing including good and bad as well as the entire universe is the Creation of GOD and that Cration and Creator are not seperate… In that sense, GOD is infinite ( as the Univese is) and one can only realise HIM and when one try to explain it using bounds of words or time, eventualy the human ego takes over and what ever was true in the context of the time and audiace for the realised soul explaining it looses its meaning. And that is why, many of the relegious beliefs and rituals do not pass a common-sense test. That is why some Hindus talk about revange and some Muslims resort on terrorism to protect Islam which means Peace. A famos saint from India ( Sri Ram Krishna Paramhansa ) explained hte meaning of “Kafir” ( An Urdu word from Holy Kuran) which made sense to me. He said that Kafir means enemy of relegion. And that enemy is not a person who does not believe in relegion but the enemy is our own tendencies such as lust, anger, hypocrasy, revegefullness etc. which comes in our way for us to be a Human-- in a true sense. Osho ( www.oshoworld.com) also raised similar question. his famous question: " How can a true Christian go on a crusaid to protect the doctrain on LOVE and Forgiveness"?
I have been very fortunate to have found a spiritual teacher ( Sri Ram Sharma Acharya)who cared about the entire humanity and not just one race or relegion. I get a lot of inspiration from his books which combines spirituality with mordern science.( eventhought htey refer to Ancient Indian Scriptures a lot).
I thought you may like some books such as : Life beyond physical death", Sleep, Dreams and spiritual reflections, " The absolte law of Karma" The Extrasensory potentials of mind"…
He wrote a lot of books ( over 3000) for the upliftment of humanity and did not put any copyright for his writings so that humanity can benifit from them. He also wrote a lot about the future of humanity.
The funny thing about Jesus and the Bible is, it doesnt ever actually have Jesus of Nazareth the Christ saying that unless you accept me you will go to hell. Jesus taught equality, He said that He and the Father are one, and that we are one with Him making us all at one with God. Jesus said that we could do everything He did and more! If you drop all old beliefs and open the Bible (which can be incredibly hard to do) alot of what Jesus said can line up (and more logically) with other religous and spiritual views that teach atoneness and the many paths back to God. I believe that almost all the New Testament is a fabrication, but i believe that fabrication was built around the words of Jesus, look closely at the other books of the NT and you’ll notice that there actually differences between the words of the authors(apostles) (most of whom didn’t even live at the time of the Christ) and what Jesus actually said.
I think that we are all born and live as a part of the divine, from the divine and are the divine itself. I believe it was Jesus time in the desert before he was baptised, which was when God declared Him his Son, that he attained atonement, I believe that we are all born and live in and under the same conditions as Jesus, we can simply choose as Jesus did and find the Truth,Divine,God.
Jesus said I AM the way the truth and the life, it makes sense even when not related back to Jesus being the ticket to heaven.
God called God I AM to Moses, I AM the way, truth life.
This could be a reference to God being all, if God is the way truth and life there is no need for fear in hell because you can never not be with God, the very path you take to find God is God.
There is also another way to look at it “If you wish to find God, I have shown you a/the path the way i have lived, the truth i have spoken and the life i have revealed to you”
I think if you truly search you can find the truth ANYWHERE, even in the script to a porno film (not that they really have any).
Even though i don’t perscribe to religion i think the idea of shooting down our oldest religious texts down probably isnt the best idea if your looking for truth. Think about what these books are and the people who wrote them, there had to have been some profound truth originaly otherwise who would read them and follow them, just because people lived 2000 years ago doesnt mean they were stupid, do you seriously think the people would’nt have risen up if they believed the church to rorting them. At least at first there had to have been something to intrigue there spirit when they read it otherwise the powers that be wouldn’t have seen it as an appropriate tool with which to control the people think about why would they use a book noone was interested in.
History shows that there is a fine line between knowing what people want and using that for corruption. And istn’t truth the ever ongoing struggle between the subjective and the objective?..in which the twine shall never meet.
