well only one way to find out if it works.
There’s no good shortcuts to a HEALTHY body, not even in your dreams.
Of course, you won’t lose weight just by working on it while asleep. But it might be possible to shake off bad habits this way, like eating too much, or addiction to sweets.
Or you could “try on” the body you would have after your workout/diet/whatever and see how good it feels… that could be a pretty strong motivation.
Exercise and eat right, in REAL LIFE.
It might work, when dreaming your semiconscious is more open and you can induce it to work for you. It will make you get more worried about your weight and you might do your diet without soo much suffering…
but I haven’t anything that shows it’s effective.
Some story said that some sport player have upgraded his play because of lucid dream…

I think it’s possible… but I do not think it’s directly related to ld
I read somewhere on this forum a thread someone made of an article talking of Lucid Dreaming.
Somewhere in the article it talked of a woman who was very successful at losing unwanted weight.
IMO, you would have to be able to LD every single night in order for this to be effective. Apparently, she would put off treats and high fat stuff saying she’d eat them after bed or at night while she was dreaming and pigged out when she did have an LD.
I think it’s completely possible.
When I eat a lot of chololate or other candy in my dreams (LD/ND), I mostly get sick by the idea of eating the same thing in real life again…
This is not causing me to loose weight, but it helps to prevend gaining weight.
Well, I agree with the idea of trying on a slim body and see how it feels or making love when “slim” in your dreams!
Sex when slimmer feels better too… and once this is in ones head, i am sure the motivation gets much bigger!
LD seems to be a better motivator than any conscious thinking, it must get in deeper partis of owr brains much easier, it’s hard to forget it’s emotions even if we don’t remember from where it came from.
not to mention you can create new habits in an ld, such as exercising more.
Since December 2005 I have cut the sugar out of my diet. No candy, cakes, soda…etc. I am dying to have an LD where I actually remember to pig out on all the stuff I love.
I had a ND in the last 3 weeks were I ate a little bit of cookie dough…it was much better then RL.
I have read (was it in LaBerge’s book?) that someone else had similar experience. As our brain and desire for delicious foods/drinks are closely connected, then satisfying your brain in LDs by eating/drinking a lot of delicious stuff, might have some help to reduce this desire IRL.
since LD’ing is heavily subconcious, i’d suggest things like asking yourself to visualise your weight problem - something will be generated in front of you, and somehow you must reason with it. or defeat it, but that is a negative subconcious element that is less likely to work
could you elaborate on that?
“trying on” a slim body in a lucid dream to get your motivation up is a really good idea. One time I gave myself a hair cut in a lucid dream to see if I liked it and I ended up deciding to keep my hair long.
