Hey there.
Since about a week or two, I often wake up more early in the morning because when I am at the end of dreaming. (when they become a bit vague and chaos like) I suddenly hear a ‘very’ loud door that slams shut very hard, so loud that it gives me a shock and wakes me up. Its a dream sound, because there is no door that slams in real life, and sometimes I get another version. This morning it was scary because it was almost a monster like sound, like a growl. Maybe I can describe it as the sound a dog could make in its throat when it has grabbed you. It was again so loud that it gave me a shock and woke me up.
It keeps happening, I never had it before. And I think it is odd because in this dream stage, everything is vague and almost gone. Also sounds. The loud sound is very much in contrast with that. So it is odd that while the mind is actually leaving the dream state, it still produces a very loud dreamsound ‘suddenly’ for some reason.
Do other people have this? And why do you think it happens?
I don’t usually have this, but the other day it happened. I’m not sure if it was a fter a dream though, but might have been. I heard a voice say “tomorrow” and that shook me awake
Maybe it’s some HH from us going back into the dreamstate? Maybe we wake up after a dream and stay a bit conscious as we’re entering REM again? Just a guess.
Mmm, yes… that sounds about right probably.
I have never fully experienced WILD yet, but then people have simulair things happening right? But without waking up.
Odd that you got ‘tomorrow’
I thought a door closing was a nice one too, as the dream is closing.
yeah, a door closing is nice… but slamming seems unpleasant!
Yeah, sometimes when entering a WILD lound noises can be heard. I guess the problem here is we’re not expecting it, not trying to stay conscious, so we get startled awake.
I often have these noises, but as I fall asleep. They can also be falls or an attack on me or something startling. The result is the same though: I awake with a jerk and am usually very shocked…! Although this makes me wonder if we could use these noises (etc.) as a way to induce Lucid Dreams? Just a thought…
It did not happen this night.
I did have another kind of sound after dreaming that half awoke me, but not such a loud sound that it woke me up with an uncomfortable shock.
This was… well… how to explain… some sounds are really not easy to put in words. But I guess it was a radio like buzz, like when its not finding a radio channel yet? (lol, my English also has some holes in it I guess).
So the radio buzz, but in a different way like Bzzz bz bz bz bz bz bz (lol)
But anyway, I think many people have those sounds and many other ones.
It is interesting though, how that happens before dreaming and just after. Its like the brain is shifting to this or that state fast or slowly, which goes along with sounds, that do not seem to be completely random?
I think that a voice saying ‘tomorrow’, is really interesting. It does not seem to be random at all.
Many times people get buzzing or static sound when WILD’ing. I read somewhere a guy comparing that sound to radio Like when you’re in between stations, in between the waking station and the dreaming station. After we get fully into the dream, the static transforms into normal nice sounds.
I’ve also hade something like that, but instead of Bzzzz bz bz bz bz it mas more of a low shhhhhh together with peaceful water sounds
And the cool thing about the “tomorrow” was that I was trying hard to LD (auto suggestion and/or MILD) and that came to me as “tomorrow you’ll LD” lol and, indeed, the next day I read that cool “other aproach to LD’ing topic” you started, with the happy awareness, and had a great LD
