Low energy - Lost LD

I was calling a friend from my mobile phone and the spelling was wrong I knew I was dreaming! But… my energy was so low I didn’t have the strength to enter in LD, the dream collapsed and I awaked felling very annoyed that I had the chance to LD again and pass on it.

Also my will to write DJ is decaying, I used to write three dreams per night and no I leave all of them to the morning so I lose lots of details.

Help wanted!

Ive had somthing like that. I woke up in a dream and instantly knew I was dreaming, but I felt so tired I just went back to sleep.

I don’t think it has anything to do with energy. Why do you say you had not the “strength” to enter a LD? What happened exactly? Did you perform a RC or something in order to enhance your lucidity?

About your DJ, it may happen. Try to write down a quick summary of your dreams, but it would be better not to stop writing your DJ. For how many time now are you practising LD’ing seriously? Two months?

I’ve been practicing seriously for 2 months and I had 6 LDs, In my first month I recorded over 100 dreams and now I’m losing lots of dreams and recording only one or two per night, also in the first month I filled one or two pages with each dream and now I only fill half a page with each.

In all my previous LDs I always got very happy when I started the LD, but this time I felt like, “I’m dreaming and I couldn’t care less…”, I think I’m getting tired with the effort I’ve done until now, (practicing WILD, writing DJ every day and reading several books on LD), maybe I just need to take it less seriously for some time.

I didn’t felt the need to do a RC because I was sure I was dreaming, in the 2 RCILDs I had before I was surprised the RC said I was dreaming! I use looking at my hand for faults in the fingers and it worked every time I did it.

Anyway in the next LD I will do the RC to try to increase lucidity.

Hi jhanastudent,

In my opinion, you started very well yet too fast, like a long distance runner who would have sprinted from the beginning of the race. Moreover, you’re expecting too much : many people would be very glad if they recorded “only one or two dreams per night”, and by the way just one per night is far enough. And it’s not necessary to fill pages with dreams. In such conditions, it looks like normal that you’re losing your motivation very quickly. As you noticed it by yourself, you’re making too much efforts and you can’t continue on the same rhythm. That’s the first point.

The second point is, you misinterpret your results. They are rather good indeed but you believe they are bad. It’s rather common to have “dryspells” when you can’t remember a dream during a week, or have very short LD’s during a month, etc. It happens to the best dreamers.

What you believed to be “low energy” is this little loss of motivation plus very normal effects which may happen in some LD’s - due to a low lucidity level. Loss of motivation and low lucidity may be related, why not ? but I think it’s better to suppose they’re only due to the fact you didn’t take the care to perform simple tricks to enhance your lucidity. And about your motivation, you should plan during waking life some interesting goals to reach in LD’s. If you don’t, you are likely to just bore in your LD’s and not really want to maintain lucidity.

Good luck and keep up the good work!
