ohh! creative how you created the mirror!

I see
LD x 2 = 20 pt

LD 1:

  • remember task (implicit) = 1
  • create (see )mirror = 2
  • walk through mirror (no exploring) = 5

and LD 2:

  • remember task (implicit) = 1
  • create (see) mirror = 2
  • drive through mirror (no exploring) = 5

total: 36 points

I see you also did your personal goal (twice!), do you want to claim your personal goal points ? (i won’t add the points unless you tell me to)

The points don’t matter. I’m just doing this to motivate myself to become lucid more often, and to remember to do something worthwhile during the lucid.

I really appreciate you taking the time to do this, because this is really helping a lot, because without something like this to motivate someone, a person can easily lose their motivation to work on becoming lucid.

Years ago I sponsored something like this on a site called Mortal Mist, but we only had a monthly task of somewhere for everyone to try to visit. And no awards or points were given. So it eventually died out.

Your idea of having a weekly task, and giving points for the various things is much better. So I appreciate the thought and effort you have put into this, because I believe that this is exactly what people need to help them become lucid more often.

I agree, it’s already been helpful for having that stronger intention to lucid dream.

So thanks for organizing this, Q!

And thanks for the tips as well on how to get through the mirror. I hope I get the chance to try them out and succeed!

Cool to read that some others have already been able to do it, or even multiple times. Makes me think we’re in the company of some experienced lucid dreamers!

glad you like it! - I’m also glad to see it works as intended (motivation for LD’s) because look at everyone’s results so far! :tada:

we had monthly (later bi-monthly) Quests on LD4all for a long long time (with a one time reward). Lucid Adventures > Wings Quest if you are interested.
Maybe at some point will bring these back as well. :peek:

Had another (albeit short) LD: https://community.ld4all.com/t/bocchers-dj/79777/5?u=boccher
Didn’t remember to do the task in this one tho

added +10 to your score for the LD :tada:

hope your exam went well

If it were as hard as last year’s I wouldve been lowkey cooked, but luckily it was comparatively easy so I got the full score :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

At first I thought that a weekly lucid task was too often since I’ve only been getting lucid about every 2 or 3 weeks, but now realize the importance of having a weekly task to coax the subconscious into getting lucid more often.

So even if I don’t complete the task some week, I am still grateful for this being on a weekly basis, and will be doing my best to complete the task when I do get lucid, even if it is later and too late for credit, because this is exactly what I’ve been needing to motivate my subconscious to get lucid more often.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness in making this a weekly task instead of a monthly task.

I had a great long lucid dream this night.:sparkles: It’s posted in my dream journal: https://community.ld4all.com/t/a-night-owls-dream-journal/79783/7

I completed:

  • Jumping through 4 mirrors (your tips helped, Q!) :star_struck:
  • Exploring what’s on the other side (twice)

I almost completed my personal goal as well but not exactly… I wanted to go to a specific place of my imagination but ended up in some place that looked a little like it but really quite wasn’t. I tried changing the place into what it should be but it was a lot of work and I didn’t complete it because I woke up. Perhaps it would have been faster to just try again with another mirror jump. If anyone has tips for me, please do. It’s my first time going through a portal and it’s also my first time coming somewhat close to going to a specific place while lucid. How do I get to a very specific place in my imagination? And what do I do when I arrive at a place that’s only half a match to what I meant to create?

woah great attempt :tada:

now how am I gonna score this xD
I didn’t account for the fact that task can be completed multiple times in the same LD

Since you also got points for multiple partial completions in earlier LD’s I think it is fair that I follow up in this same vein and reward also multiple task completions.

so, I see:

  • 1 LD - 10
  • 1 x remember task - 1
  • see mirror & jump through - 7
  • see mirror & jump through - 7
  • 1 x complete full task: 10
(see mirror, jump through & explore (encounter of the smelly DC xD)
  • 1x complete full task again: 10 pt
(see another mirror (for personal task), go through explore fake rose quartz beach)

total: :abacus: 45 points

:woah:

judging from what I read in your LD, It seems you are too ā€œcontrollingā€ for it to be precisely and exactly what you imagined. That can be counter-effective. So try to be more ā€˜open’ to receiving what the dream will give you and have the firm trust that it will be precisely the version of the beach that you are meant to encounter at that specific time. I think you already had a real good attempt, it seems your ā€œdream background environmentā€ was stronger than what you really wanted to see. Work on that mindset more that your dream is just ā€˜dream’ and you can completely step out of the scenario to wherever you want to be.

If it’s half a match, try just instructing the dream: hey, this is not my beach! walk on it and really feel and imagine your ā€˜true beach’ and kinda invite the dream to cocreate it with you (not ā€œforceā€ it to happen).

3 nights left for the current task. How are you faring?
remember, you can always post here how you are doing, even if you didn’t have a LD or want tips, etc.
And if you did have a LD for the challenge, (and want your points xD) then please announce it here with a link to your DJ, because I can’t keep track of everyone’s DJ’s to scan for task points

Had another LD, though I don’t wanna explain it too much lmao, hope this still qualifies :sob: :sob: https://community.ld4all.com/t/bocchers-dj/79777/6?u=boccher

Holy hell that’s a lot of mirrors. Someone should try putting two mirrors opposite each other and just sprinting into infinity :face_with_hand_over_mouth: that’d be a hell of an exploit.

a LD is a LD xD

I hope I didn’t cheat the game? I just thought this was how it worked! :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Usually I’m never lucid long enough to complete any task multiple times. But the challenge has really helped me to stabilize and get a few more things done.

I have heard some people can lucid dream even for half an hour. In that kind of time, you could walk though hundreds of mirrors…! :exploding_head:

I had my longest last month at about 45-50 mins (it was a WBTB WILD so I kept track of time, subtracting approximately the time it took me to fall asleep), but it was quite an outlier. Though I don’t remember a lot of transitions between scenes, I did manage to try a lot of stuff out (like 6 different ways of constructing a PR, none of which worked lmao). Not sure if I’ll ever manage something like that again, but I think anyone would get bored of walking through mirrors and try something else instead.
GG on doing the task so many times though :person_kneeling:

No lucid dreams for me yet

I’ve started practicing ADA again. I also want to try SSILD when I wake up in the night, but the two times I’ve tried it so far, I’ve fallen asleep immediately.

the challenges are also about dream control so if you manage to do it multiple times in a LD that’s only good for you
