Lucid Dreaming and Highschool

So, many people on this forum are going to school right now, myself included. I’m asking some veterans here how you can lucid dream during the school year. I have to wake up at 5:45 in the morning each morning for school to an alarm. So, I have almost no dream recall, and no time to write in my DJ unless I get up even earlier. I also won’t do WBTB, as it sometimes messed up my sleep schedule during the summer if I couldn’t get back to sleep. Any help, or should I just stop trying except for RCs and try again next break?

EDIT: I put highschool in the title without thinking. Any answers in this thread should also apply to people in middle school and college.

I normally try to focus more on the weekends, where I have time to actually think “What did I dream about?” instead of “What do I have to do today?”

I try to MILD on school days, and right now I’m trying to master WILDing without WBTB. I’ve done it once before. But that’s a bit extreme. Just MILD should suffice.

My normal method is MILD without WBTB anyway, so school won’t impact my dreaming that much. I might have to wake up a little earlier to record dreams, but overall it won’t be bad.

yep, it sucks  On weekdays my recall drops to 0.05 or something. I don’t think you have to stop any techniques, but just get into a mindstate that accepts the fact that you might not have results (as in, don’t get frustrated!) So just practice for fun  I’ve had a few random spontaneous LD’s on weekdays though, so it might just help and you’ll get lucky.

I personally don’t recommend WBTB, unless you are able to go to bed like 8 PM and get a lot of sleep  6-8 hours of sleep for me is to little, usually ( :shy: ) and I rarely remember dreams. Alarm in the morning doesn’t help either  I think trying to WILD before bed (again, mainly as practice!) and/or meditating helps me a bit and increases my chances…

Besides all that… hmm, I guess you can just build up motivation for vacations!

EDIT: I’m not saying it’s impossible to remember dreams and have LD’s, or course  many people do it, I just find it a lot harder :eh:

Well, it depends on what technique you are using.
You might not want to do WBTB.

However, I’d recommend either just doing RCs actively during the day, or trying WILD when you are going to sleep (WILD usually works much better after a few hours of sleep, but it depends on the dreamer), since waking up in the middle of the night and maybe not falling asleep can be a trouble.

Good luck
