Lucid Dreaming becoming more like Waking Life (and reverse)?

As I dream more and try to induce Lucidity, I notice that my reality checks that I use to synch me into the Dream are starting to fail to work! For example, I used to look at my hands and would notice drastic differences in them and would be aware I am dreaming. As of recently, if I look at my hands in a dream, they appear IDENTICAL and I never get the reality check and the dream continues. I had another in which I will hold my nose and breathe out. If I can still breathe, I know its a dream. Well, tonight I had a dream where I came to a point where I said “this is too good to be true” so I did the nose check…to my surprise, my ears popped in my dream and I assumed the Dream was Reality, which it obviously was not.

This is interesting. I often encounter situations in my WAKING life where I also feel its too good to be true and need to do reality checks. It seems my Waking Life and my Vivid Dream States are bleeding into each other where its near impossible to tell the difference whereas before it was easy to induce lucidity do the abstract nature of my Dreams. It seems my Dreams are becoming more solidifed and “realistic” while my Waking Life is becoming more Dreamlike and borderline surreal. I think I am reaching more ascended levels of both states but I was curious if anybody else has experienced this as well?

Yes, I’ve experienced that. Its possible for any sort of reailty check to fail in a dream. I find the ones like flicking a light switch never work work me, the light turns off and on just fine in a dream! Although I normally find that if I get to the point of doing a reailty check in a dream I’ll normally realise, just from the feeling of being in a dream.

Something that I also notice happening when I have lots of dreams is my memory getting mixed up. Sometimes I can’t tell if something actually happened or if it was just a dream.

Yeah I get that a lot. It feels very ‘between worlds.’

Thats what is so weird though, I get to that part to where I’m fully questioning it and aware its a dream yet my RC’s always fail. One time I was running from someone with a gun and felt it was dreamlike but I wasn’t sure, so I decided to take a look at who it was. The man (men actually) fire their guns and a bullet grazes my arm. I see the wound and felt the heat and pain of the bullet graze my arm. I never had pain in a dream and it used to be an RC, like a pinch. Now I feel the pinch.

It almost feels like something is making look harder and harder, like a test.

Had another dream last night where I was in this Adobe-ish House with Red Wood and it was decorated really cool and I was examing the place and thought “This feels like I dream but I’d know if it was a dream!” And then woke up.

I haven’t had enough LDs to tell you about dreaming part, but a lot of my waking life moments are quite surreal.

For example…

The other day, I was in the hospital, and I suddenly had a strange feeling that something wasn’t right. I ignored it for a bit. I got on the elevator. There was no button for the third floor, nor was there a button for the sixth. I needed to go to the fifth floor, but every time I pressed the button, it simply flashed a bunch of times and then stopped. The elevator could only go all the way to the top. Additionally, all of the people in this hospital watched me as I walked past. It didn’t feel real at all. I did a few RCs, and they all told me I was awake. Talking to my dad about the trip confirmed that it actually happened. Meh.

I had a dream about a week ago I met this girl and we fell hopelessly in Love almost at sight! It felt so real and a few RC’s even FAILED, until I eventually awoke.

This past weekend, I went to visit my friend Jenica in Sedona, AZ and we completely and unexpectedly fell in Love with each other, almost instantly!!
