Lucid dreaming: too good to be true?

I disagree with just about everything the OP says and there is one thing i want to point out.

I’ve had about 100 LD’s and that has never happened to me. I remember one LD that became nightmarish but then i just decided to wake up. LD’s are much more relaxing the normal dreams and normal dreams are much more likely to turn into nightmares.

Also notice that this thread is 2 weeks old and hasn’t made any posts in the thread since it was created.

Lucid dreams are no more or less apt than regular dreams to be peaceful and pleasant. If you tend to have nightmares, then you’ll tend to have lucid nightmares.

“Anyone can do it and it’s unformly wonderful” is infomercial-style hype.

Every reason is good.

wat if you kill it with kindness

when you have your first LD, you will know that it isn’t bad and you won’t think about it anymore… I think that any LD’er will tell you that…
my experiences LD’ing have been nothing but wonderful

i STRONGLY disagree with this.
you can be athiest, i dont really care, we each have our own experiences, but i seriously doubt you have anything to back that belief other then what you dont believe in.
i bear scars (PHYSICAL scars) from things of this nature, had it examined by doctors, and they say its claw marks, but not by nails.
like a mountain lion dug into my back.
i wont go into more detail, and sorry for the off-topic conversation, but LD’s arent from the devil.
ive studied a great many verses of the bible, Ars Goetia, the dictionnaire infernal, and probably the best known book about these things, the “Pseudomonarchia Daemonum” and nothing about it comes up, other then people speaking with the high demons of hell through prophetic dreams, then waking up completely batshit insane.
what ive seen is that when something that seems to have any ties with spritualism is extremely cool or useful, someone asks the same question, “does it have ties with the devil?”
lucid dreaming lies in the mind, meaning that if you ask “Do LD’s come from the devil?” would be like asking “do dreams come from the devil?”.
their almost the exact same thing, and you couldnt possibly believe that dreams come from the devil, so there lies your answer.

NO.

thank you, skwisgaar

if you belive its the devil, then it is. in lucid dreams, anything you think or belive becomes reality. but dont worry cause theres a simple solution. dont belive it! simply say out loud “im in total control!” or “lucidty more” and state it clear to! good luck! pm me if ya have more questions

lol this guy hasn’t been back here since september wolfpaw

None. Why would there be a catch? Your in a dream, you know you’re dreaming. Sky is the limit.

Lose control? Become a nightmare? This doesn’t really happen except for perhaps a rare case where you vaguely realize your dreaming and immediately forget again. At this point though your back in a normal nightmare, so unless you believe that nightmares are related to the devil then no there is no demonic control.

I don’t believe in shared dreaming, in the idea of two dreamers actually sharing the same dream. This would require a psychic link of some sort and there is just no known empirical evidence (or anecdotally for me) that supports this.

To the former, I suppose its possible, but no more or less so than a normal dream. From the way you have framed these questions it seems like you think of LD’s as somehow seperate and set apart from normal dreams. They aren’t; An LD is a normal dream. The one difference is that an LD is a regular dream in which you happen to know your dreaming.

As to the second part, I have no idea. if people dream while in a coma (I don’t know what we know about coma’s to be honest) then yes they could of course have lucid dreams.

Lol I just noticed this as well. Oh well.

lqtm yeah

LD is real. And I don’t quite like it as it happens every night. My mind plans all the layouts of my dreams to let me participate in it. Every LD dream of mine has a thing I need to realise therefore I can’t ignore it. But its tiring alright…I miss a good night sleep.
