Lucid transition?

Over the 2-3 years iv been trying, iv never thought of myself as having succeeded in my quest for lucid dreaming. But something just occured to me… its by no means what im aiming to achieve, but i think i may achieve some small form of awareness for about 5-10 seconds if im woken up by a noise, or sound of people talking.

iv had dreams when iv, for example, heard the mobile phone ringing. At first i think its in the dream, then i realise its in real life. I dont make any conscious decision to wake up (or atleast that im aware of), but there is a period when i kind of feel myself exiting the dream and waking up. For a few seconds il feel like im in the dream AND in bed, and as soon as i open my eyes its gone. Like a part of me is still in the dreamworld, but i dont physically feel like im there. Id compare it to a situation where one minute you’re in a dream and fully aware, the next minute you’re in bed, and imagining the scenario in your head.

Im not conscious enough before waking up to take anything in.

For the first, do you mean that you feel the bed and hear and see the dream? Happens to me fairly often. You need to make your mobile ring quietly, to stop you from waking up.

Welcome!

The same to me. Its more frequently to me in the morning. Like sometimes ím dreaming and at the same time im hearing the noise at the kitchen and feeling my bed. But it seems that during that time my mind doesnt want me to have an LD couse it always finds an excuse in the dream for me to wake up…
… ho well…
Welcome anyway…

Thanks for your replies, although im really not new  i first posted here at the old forum about 2-3 years ago under a different name, then i just started reading for a while before i decided to post again. Guess i just had nothing to say.

And yes, i mean im fully aware of the bed and my sleeping body, AND i can still hear everything in the dream for a split second or two

Hello hereticmagpie :content:

So I’m just wondering, do you keep a DJ? Because, it sounds like you can become lucid easily in the moorning if you could just start remebering your dreams first. I bet if you make a habit of waking up an hour before you actualy have to be up., then remember your dream, write it down then go back to sleep… you will probably dream lucid in the morning. I’d say about 95% of my LD’s are in the morning when I take my time getting up.

Iv often considered doing that but the problem is my job (which is only part-time so its not all-consuming) requires me to get up early so i dont really wanna get up any earlier than i have to

Although i do plan on trying it one day cos if i wake up and then go immediatly back to sleep im almost instantly back in a dream, sometimes the same one.
