So I’ve never had lucid dreams in my life, that I know of.
Anyway I’ve been trying the MILD technique now for a couple of days.
I started by recorded some dreams I did remember last few nights. I can see I advance every night by writing down the dreams in the morning. That’s fantastic and I’m really glad I’m moving on.
But then I try become lucid.
If I lie on the back I get much more relaxed and I feel like I can concentrate more with my mind.
I’ve often felt dizzy, hoping that I’m going to have a lucid dream. But after like, 5-10 seconds of the dizzyness, I feel “it” slipping away, and I try again and again, until I switch to the side of my body, and fall into sweet dreams.
But they ain’t lucid.
I do know that, when I’m sleeping on the back, it’ll take me 2-3 hours to get finally asleep! So that’s why I switch…
I usually sleep on the side and it’s a lot easier for me to asleep in that position. I try to relax and thinking “I’m dreaming” repeatingly, and imagine the vidid images from later dreams.
I never get this dizzy feeling on the side.
But certainly, I fall asleep, dream a normal dream, record it and try the method again later on.
Just wondering,
should I try more to get lucid on the side or on the back when I’m in bed?
Do you sleep on the back but feel it easier to sleep in some other potition just to become lucid?
Any advise would help.
P.S. I visit this page almost every night now and I’m completly hooked! Exellent site!
hello siddi5
You could goto sleep in your more comfortable position on your side. Then if/when you wake up in the night try to reenter your dreams through WILD while lying on your back.
If you use MILD your sleeping position doesn’t matter
I find myself doing my MILD exercises and then rolling onto my side to sleep. Seems to work fine. I’ve always been curious as to whether position really matters.
A comment was made that the position for a WILD does matter, can anyone expand on that? I’ve had many WILDs as well, but never with a specific position.
Seems like the only position I can relax in WILD is on my back with a pillow on my belly and my hands folded over my pillow i don know why thats just how it is lol.
Some people find that they fall asleep too easily when doing WILD on their sides or stomachs. Others find that they can never get close to entering a dream unless they lie in a specific position.
I am still experimenting with WILD and I find that I never get far enough doing it on my back but I always fall asleep on my side.
I would have to say that position matters for individual people, but not for everyone.
Exactly!
Simultaneously, when I turn to the side, I fall into sleep in no-time, though I’m trying to concentrate on the MILD technique etc.
I’ve been experimenting the MILD technique as I mentioned before, with almost no results.
Since the position does matter in WILD, I find it handy, because I belief that I can reach much more closer lying on the backside.
So that’s why I’m gonna experiment with WILD,
and as far as I’d guess,
I think people find that’s an exellent technique.
Seems to work well,
anway don’t listen to me, I gotta lot to learn!
Well heres the only way I can get close to a WILD: I lie on my back, under the covers, and have a pillows on my stomach with my hands clasped on top of the pillow. Maybe its wierd but its how I got into my first and only LD (only lasted for a split second).
wow, i tried this position last night and it worked amazingly well! i did WBTB after 4.5 hours sleep, got into this position, and got SP in under 15 mins (which is a record for me by far). didnt manage to enter a WILD, i got too excited
Im glad my technique helped
I actually have a problem where it is hard for me to keep my legs still without feeling discomfort, and the position I described above for some reason is the only one I can stay in without any discomfort
For me, my back and sides are the easiest for WILD. I can also do WILD on my stomach as well, but that just is not as comfortable for me.
I remember one member of the forum used to be able to do it from a sitting position. I have tried that several times but have not been able to do WILD while sitting yet.
That is interesting, I used to do the same thing some time ago. The only difference was that I had my hands and the pillow above the covers. It was actually a comfortable way to sleep. I don’t know why it works but it seems to.
Kind of funny thing about positions, I used to not be able to fall asleep at all on my back. It’d take hours. I started trying to do it for WILD and my mind adjusted… now I fall asleep on my back really easily as well as on my right side.
I’m going to try that position though, if you say it works.
Ok I tried that position with the pillow on my stomach and all I have to say is, What the crap?
I woke up lying on my side with the pillow back under my head!
I must have taken the pillow and put it back while sleeping… or something…
