Okay! so lets say in real life you can play piano. If you were to close your eyes and a note was played you could identify it immidietly. Then if you were in a dream and there was a piano could you technically create a random song or tune in your dream on the piano, remember the notes and bring it back into real life?? Because if you were in the dream the notes might be completely off and you could play mozart by banging on the piano keys. I was wondering tho if you did have the notes memorized could you make a song in your dream or even possible ask your SC to create one for you and then bring it back to waking life??
RCs I was sure I’d seen this topic before, but then you were the author, so this one is a new one, huh…
I’m pretty sure the topic is out there, and rather recent, but I don’t see it in this subforum…
I have brought back bits of songs from dreams, and there are some I wish I could have remembered, but one was like an orchestral piece, so I barely would have been able to remember the different parts to write down anyway…
If I remembered it, sure. It’s always an issue with me with remembering smaller details, though, and I usually only remember small bits. However, if you managed to remember it all, sure!
Wyvern uses dreams in his composing as well. I’m pretty sure he uses it more often than I do. I usually just write something interesting down that I hear in a dream and save it for later. He’s much more skilled than I am.
interesting thanks! ill try tonight cuz i play piano!! also i just joined today so yeah mustve been someone else that posted something similar to this haha
Well, good luck! I’m a violinist and have played for 13 years, but anything I hear in a dream I’ll make into a melody… one dream I remembered a small part… A friend was playing the song for me on this tiny trumpet on a keychain… I added more to it in the last few weeks… for my Xaphoon. (Yes, that is an instrument.) It was really pretty. Gotta get a somewhat good recording of it, if I can play it decently enough. (It won’t take much practice, just a little.)
Paul McCartney (sorry if I spelled that wrong) composed his song “Yesterday” in a dream, so I would say that the idea has some potential!
Well, I compose music, and I have taken entire pieces from dreams I WASN’T controlling. So I suppose it should be more than possible to pull them from LDs
I should mention, however, that what I’ve brought back from dreams are audible memories. Basically, the song playing in my mind. And then I figure it out, back in real life.
So if you were to figure it out in the dream, you would have to make sure the dream piano is in tune. But it doesn’t sound impossible at all.
