Meditation within a Lucid Dream?

I haven’t had an LD yet. I’ve only been able to regularly remember my dreams in recent years since I started a dream journal mid-week last week. Since then I’ve been averaging about two dreams remembered a night. I read, I think somewhere on this forum, that it helps, instead of making the goal having an LD, making the goal doing something while lucid in a dream.

I’d like to be able to meditate in my dream. Before bed, while using the MILD technique, I visualize becoming aware in my dream, doing another RC, rubbing my hands together and sitting to meditate. Then I visualize my mind engulfing my dreamscape, my initial idea being that this would be a useful technique for achieving unio mystica within a dream as the dreamscape dissolves into emptiness. I’m interested in any feedback on what I’m attempting from those more experienced with LDs.

But I was thinking, might this also be a way to trigger greater control within a dream? If, instead of the dreamscape dissolving, my mind only expands and enwombs the dreamscape, then I might be able to associate everything in the dream with the faculty of imagination and let go of my limiting beliefs about my capabilities within the LD. It might help me to directly perceive the dream as inner world instead of outer world, as something malleable instead of concrete.

What are your thoughts?

I have been interested in learning dream meditation as well, but am focusing now on increasing my frequency and control in lucid dreams first.

If you are not already familiar with this, you may want to read up a bit on Tibetan dream yoga. I have found this site useful in terms of providing information, insight, and exercises for bringing your dream life into your spiritual practice (and vice versa)

Thanks m_d. I’d heard about it and added a book about it to my amazon wishlist for later purchase but hadn’t come across that site.
