Meditation

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with meditation and lucid dreaming. I’ve been doing a mindfullness meditation for about 2 weeks and I haven’t noticed any difference in my ability to LD. A mindfullness meditation is suppossed to build awareness and therefore theorectically should help you realize that you are dreaming. I plan to continue meditating for other reasons but hopefully with more time it will help with my lucid dreams. I was wondering if anyone else has had success with meditating and if so what specific meditation technique you use.

Even though I don’t have much experience, from what I can see, it will definitely be a big help. It’s just that it will take practice, until the mindfulness becomes a part of your dreams.

The skill would be very useful for getting into WILD as well.

I couldn’t really tell you whether or not Mindfulness of Breathing can help in achieving lucid dreams. I’ve been practicing it for the past month, but I heard about it before I heard about lucid dreaming. Even so, I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t help you out. Whatever happens, good luck!

When I was using meditation everyday (before classes started again :read: ) I had a LOT of success. Even when I didn’t have LD’s my RD’s were very vivid and seemed like the overall quality improved greatly. I can’t wait until I can start that up again, just hardly enough time in my day for it right now.

I practice Zen meditation and I’ve been lucky enough to have many lucid dreams. However, I’ve found that the more mindful I become, the more aware in day-to-day life, the more I become lucid. So I think you are definitely on the right track Mr. Diggity.

Any guided Meditation by Kelly Howell is amazing so relaxing
