i usually don’t have time to try it after sleeping and waking in the last hours of REM because of school

It is possible to MILD right before you go to sleep, but the chances of it being successful wouldn’t be nearly as high as if you were to do it combined wih a WBTB. However, afternoon naps would be a great time to do MILD, because in that time, you would jump right into REM sleep, greatly increasing your chances of success. Good luck!
