Absolutely, MILD is a great starting technique. You need to make a good mantra, something like “In ___ hours/minutes (or at ___ a.m.), I will remember to do a reality check (or that you are dreaming).” The time should be when you are going in to REM sleep, usually 5-6 hours after first going to bed.
Also, do reality checks all throughout the day so it feels natural to do them in your dreams. Always make sure to really ask yourself if you are awake or dreaming. It’s this doubt that actually transfers to dreams that gives you a MILD/RCILD.
Thanks Rhewin!
I will try that when i go to sleep!
In my experience, in my dreams when I do a reality check I’m always surprised it works, because everything seems so normal … even if a police man is eating icecream out of his hat, or a spiral staircase is floating in the sky, even if I’m in a room i’ve never been in before in real life it will pass as my home in a dream. Always make sure that you REALLY do your RC pay attention and focus while your doing it or it could fail or your brain will make a good ecuss why its not working and it won’t be because your dreaming . The brain is sneaky like that! My favorite RC is Hold your nose and try to breath if your dreaming you can breath. Good Luck and happy dreaming
The most important thing to do is believe, believe suceed, be always positive and remeber every passing day is a day closer to having your first ld.
Ok,will do that.
Thanks for al the great reactions!
It’s nice to see this englisch forum is much more active than the forum of the Netherlands.
