alrighty, i had a dream last night in which i was in a ghoul fest… everything was mighty creepy (but at the same time normalll… it took place at a death metal concert)
so anyways, i went into this run down sanitarium. (becuase the concert was in it’s backyard) and then i was trying to use the phone… hwen i was in this little hallway, i realised the lighting was bad and i couldnt read the phone… so anyways, i go and try to adjust the light levels, and for some reason they worked!! (either that… or actually… -
the phone was on the wall facing the other side of the wall, and there was a door to the outside… i had the door closed at first. then as i was going to change the lgiht levels i opened the door becuase it was a bit creepy. so anyways then i turned back to the phone, and it was facing the door… maybe the lighting had gone up so that i could read the phone becuase it was facing the light of outside??
but even still… there is the difference of the inside light and outside, the light levels were definately changing, becuase i remmeber looking up at the light bulb, and it did flick on.
also, i used to alwyas dream that i was going to take a piss, and i always thought, nope cant do that cuz this is a dream, might not turn out nicely… but i never got lucid or anyhting… it was before i even thought to get lucid…
i mgiht be missing these kinds of signs, is there a way i could start to recognise them better?? or is it just soemtimes you do, sometimes you dont.
Recognising dreamsigns is a fundamental part of the practises of lucid dreaming. There are always some sort of anomaly in a dream that could clue you in. You gotta pay attention to those things. You train while awake to be observant of these things. Look around and see if everything is normal, keep looking. If you make the effort to be aware all the time (even though you won’t be), you will become more aware over time. Also you can take a moment every now and then to be extra observant wich will have a more lasting effect. For instance, you you notice that people act weird in your dreams, pay attention to how people act IRL. You will become more observant with practise. Also, when you notice something strange, do a reality check or two, take a moment to be extra observant! It may sound like you go around looking for faults all the time but that’s not it. maybe you will at first, but the idea is to be more aware of what is going on.
This is all very excellent advice but I would like to add into it The Almighty Dream Journal. Oxicle did not mention whether he had one or not, but if you don’t - start keeping one. It will help you a lot in many ways, one of which is recognising dream signs. I am not sure if this is all so clear to everyone that it is hardly worth mentioning but I’ll just point it out anyway.
