Yawn :zzzz: I just woke from a strange experience. Things similar have happened before, but this one was kinda funny.
I’m really sleepy right now but it’s still too early for me, 11pm/23:00, to go to sleep for the night. Around 9:30pm I decided to lay on my bed and rest my eyes as I listened to TV. I quickly felt myself slipping away from waking life.
Ok, my dogs have not been fed yet today. We wait until night when it is cool and not 100° outside. My brother and I take turns, it has been his turn lately. As I laid there resting my eyes and listening to the TV, I heard my brother come inside from our neighbors. He takes a quick shower and I hear him walk out of the bathroom. He then exclaims “Oh shoot, I forgot to feed the dogs.” I’m really tired and lying with on my back with my arm over my eyes blocking the light. I hear him enter my room and ask “Do you mind feeding the dogs?” I figure if I lay there in that position that he would think I was fully asleep. He says to me “Ok, but I have a surprise for you” with a tone in his voice like he doesn’t believe I’m fully asleep … and possibly tricking me awake. It grows quiet but I still feel his intense stare. I start to grin thinking about him staring at me, but I hold back my laughter. Shortly afterwards I move my arm and open my eyes … but … my door is closed. …?.. Where is my brother? He has not even got home yet.
Freaky, my mind is playing tricks on me. Ah well, It’s after 11pm now so I should feed my dogs.
This sounds just like some false awakenings which I have had, but whenever it happens to me, it is always after several hours sleep.
I was once convinced that I heard my daughter in the corridor outside my bedroom and this woke me up enough to check. I went into her bedroom and saw that she was still fast asleep.
I also had an experience where I was convinced that my daughters were playing together in their bedroom. I heard them talking and moving things around. I woke up suddenly to find that it was still the middle of the night.
I have also had a very similar experience. Except it was much worse.
Last weekend, i got lucid through a mini-wild (like where i woke up but i went straight back to sleep and i was in a dream). After a few seconds I heard my mum calling me to get up, i felt she was right next to my bed, and ironically it was to feed my dog as well!
Anyway, i felt my self waking up from my lucid dream and i tried not to wake up but i did. And there was no one in my room. Door was shut tight.
Weird.
been a long time since anyone posted in this thread…anyway I do this sometimes…usually when I’ve had a bit to drink…I lay down, drifting off, and I’ll hear all my mates talking to me and i’ll get up to talk to them, but they’re not there…just me. Sometimes when i’m thinking about needing a drink, i’ll just think someones given me one, and i’ll get up and reach out for it…it’s strange, but really funny!
Damn, I hate this thing… It happened so four or five times, that I forced myself to wake up from a lucid dream, because I was sure somebody was calling me… So, at last, I settled with mom that if I didn’t get up when she once tells me to, she would not repeat it but just drag me off the bed. And I, for my part, will ignore everything I hear until she punches me and I am sure it isn’t a dream. Not very felicitous decision, I guess, but I really have to do something with it!
