More Vivid - Normal Dreams

Moved from the Quest for Lucidity into the Stuff Dreams are made of

Well, I haven’t posted here for a bit… I haven’t been recording my dreams because I find myself too lazy to do so in the mornings

Anyway, I was just wondering if by improving your Dream Recall that maybe you can increase the vividity of your normal/lucid dreams. The reason I ask this is because the last few days i’ve seemingly had really vivid dreams! When I wake up in the morning I wish that I realized I was dreaming so I could control it… yet I can remember how clear it was at the same time. It’s almost as if, I didn’t know I was dreaming but I was still slightly aware of my surroundings. Maybe this is the case with all dreams and improving your DR just allows you to remember your awareness. Still though, it’s interesting because some scenes, one in particular that I can still remember from the other night… it was a very clear, non-lucid experience.

I’ve also this feeling that improving your DR may change your dream content. As for me, it seems that my dreams were more coherent.

That may be true… last night I had a dream which was, well very much related to my actual life rather than just some random meaningless things. It was also quite vivid from what I can remember…

Yes improving your dream recall will improve the vividness, it is highly unlikely that you have dreams that aren’t vivid, but rather the recall isn’t strong enough and you don’t remember them clearly or vividly.

That the story of my life.

Well KingOmar it sounds like it is time that you jump in and start writing a new story.
I hope you have a vivid dream that you remember clearly tonight.

Doing WBTB multiple times over the last three hours of sleep (out of eight) in the morning always gives me more vivid dreams. Of course, they also don’t last long because I wake up frequently, but the overall number of NDs increases, and so does the chance of having a DILD. And better recall goes without saying.

A few days ago, I had a wonderful, very highly detailed ND in this way that raised my spirits for the rest of the day. It was so good that I’m glad I didn’t ruin it by going lucid. It also got me thinking about the subconscious and dream characters, and how they might not be so bad after all…
