i feel the strings like they would feel in real life, but because it’s a dream I just go nuts doing things that don’t make any sense and that are harsh on the fingers, and man… it really hurts.
and plus I suck… I guess it’s a really accurate guitar dream model (which is good)
does anyone else experience anything like this?
and sometimes also i’ll play insanely well impossible stuff for me to play in real life, and it almost seems like i’m really playing it…
also I always have these “NREM” dreams where I’m back in school band and playing clarinet, and I’m really reading all the notes and remembering where they are and how to play them, it’s like my mind is keeping in me in practice without even having to play in real life … (haven’t played it in a year minus some brief playing i did a few days ago)

haha today i was playing this really weird piece of crap acoustic guitar and it had the most amazing tone i’d ever heard … it blew me away.
but then when i tried to play it again it sounded like crap… some guy was playing the schism interlude and he had a really good improvised riff he did on top of it, and i asked him to show me but… it didn’t make sense
then i said “subconscious you heard the notes you can show me how to play them!” but it never did.
he wrote me up some tabs but they didn’t really make sense.

I have had normal dreams where I’ve been playing, I dont remember them much though…
It would be cool if you could use your dreams to learn stuff that you cant play in real life though, and then when you wake up you know how to in real life.
When I had no piano and could not play (I don’t want to say I can now, but I just had no idea what it is like) I had several dreams about this. I would see a piano and try to play, but only heard slight tinkling. But now when I have an electronic piano I never have such dreams. I always wonder if my dream pianos would begin to sound now. I think trying playing a musical instrument could be a good reality check for non-musicians.
Sometimes I play the piano beautifully in my dreams. I had lessons many years ago when I was at school, but I no longer have access to a piano. My dream playing is far better than I could ever play in RL I also occasionally hear beautiful orchestral music playing, but there is no way I could even begin to recreate it outside of my dreams.
