Mutathought

Has anyone noticed the concept of (often newcomers here) tend to say ‘check this method out!’ and it tends to work for them, even though classified under something like autosuggestion?

The concept is the same every time… The words, materials, is different every time…

If we zoom out, could the concept simply be the spontaenous mutation of this thought?

Maybe this will work… Yes, it does! … Maybe this other thing will work… Yes, it does!.. Maybe this other other thing will work… Yes, it does!..

Since dreamsigns are usually a comparison of ‘oddness’ to reality, could spontinaety simply be the key to recognising this?

Could people with very bland personalities get lucid more because they’re more sensetive to ‘wierd’ experiences?..

Could people like me who have had EXTREMELY wierd experiences, be less prone to picking up dreamsigns due to wierdness approaching normality?

If this is true, the more we accept in our realities, the less we can distinguish it from alternate realities… Since i posted a big thing on this, (in sig) has my theory of living totally lucidily (or rather not being able to tell the difference) destroyed my ability to recognise ‘difference’ in realities?

Discuss.

What do you mean by people who have had weird lives? Give me an example. In my experience I have found what you said to be the complete opposite. I live a very mundane, repetitious life and up until I started to learn more about lucid dreaming my dreams were as bizarre and non-lucid as you could get.

I don’t think I quite understand what you were trying to say in the last part of your post. If reality was a strange experience for some people wouldn’t that mean they are less likely to accept it? On the flipside of that wouldn’t bland people be more inclined to accept the reality they’re faced with?

According to you, for this to happen the person must accept what they are experiencing in day to day life. In my belief, this is more likely to happen to people whose lives are structured and predictable since they aren’t expecting anything strange to happen. Therefore wouldn’t they be worse off at lucid dreaming than people who are accustomed to peculiarity?

Forgive me if I don’t make sense, sometimes I have trouble converting thoughts to a transmittable form.

The more you become aware of wierd things, the more wierd things you notice. But overstimulation causes you not to notice wierd things as well.

In regards to the last bit of my post, it’s not whether you’re ‘wierd’ or ‘bland’, its the fact that if you go to either extreme opposite, you don’t notice the opposite exists… If you’re weird you dont generally see ‘normal’. If you’re normal, you don’t generally see ‘wierd’. usually normal people think when they see lots of random strange things occuring, they go ‘danm i must be going insane’ whereas wierd people who see wierd things barely bat an eyelid.

All i mean here is about contrast and relativity. If you find wierd things happen and then they become normal, you should become normal so wierd things happen… it’s just about keeping yourself in ‘unfriendly’ territory… humans like to settle into niches, and often people notice less around them when they do. ie, every time i go look in the mirror i don’t go ‘holy crap! i’m a raver!’ but if i suddenly changed cultures, i probably would.

I’m just suggesting that a ‘rolling stone gathers no moss’.
