I just began reading about LDs. I usually never remember my dreams, but two nights ago i remembered 2, yesterday i remembered none, and today i woke up and remembered 3 right away, and then a few minutes later i remembered another one. I seem to be getting better, and i havent used a DJ. Do i still need one even though i seem to be doing well?
Short term, no.
Long term, yes.
It depends whether or not you think you’ll want to remember your dreams from now in a few month’s time or a few years time or not. You tend to completely forget them after a few weeks in my experience, at which point they become lost forever. Unless you record them.
But if you’re just wanting to recall your dreams for LDs, I don’t think you’d absolutely require a journal, no.
Thx stormthunder
I would only like to remember them for LDing.
BTW
I tried WILD last night but it didnt work at all. I tried staying conscious as long as i could, but after i believe 1 hour there was still no hypnagogic images or sounds, and i was starting to get very tired. my body wouldnt fall asleep, and i decided to give up or else i would have been extremely tired today. i will try again, but do you have any advice?
Thx
Then I must have amazing dream recall, because there are dreams I had years ago that I still remember and never recorded.
me too, but i only remember a few form a long time ago…
I have had a very large amount of dreams that I havn’t recorded yet I still remember. I must be lucky.
Oh sure, but I mean in detail. There are ones I remembered from years ago too which I belatedly tried to record down, but I could never remember more than just a couple of very vague paragraphs or sentences of them. All the details which made them good were lost.
Is it normal to start feeling really tired when using WILD?
Also, how long does it usually take to begin seeing hypnagogic images?
There is a handful of dreams that I can remember from years ago, and everyone has a few.
In my opinion my Dream Journal was the most crucial component to increasing my proficiency in Lucid Dreaming.
I highly suggest you keep one, it increases your Dream Recall greatly and helps you determine dream signs.
I dont think I need a dream journal, i think i have really good dream recall so far.
I can stay aware for a long time, but i cant see hypnagogic images or start dreaming.
It’s still fun to go back and read them again though. I’ve read through my DJ and discovered ones that I could never remember if I hadn’t written it down. Which reminds me, I must go update it…
Im gonna try WILD again tonight, before I try MILD.
