Hey, first off i wanted to say hello to you all, as you can see i’m new to this community. I am from germany, so if you have difficulties to understand what i’m talking about, just ask!
I had my first LD on the 31st of December. I didn’t read any books about LD or any of that stuff, all i did was:
- A friend of mine who knows how to lucid dream told me about it and we talked about it a few times, he told me about his first experiences, some tricks etc.
- I gained interest in the topic when i got to know that one of my favorite CDs of all time, dredg’s “El Cielo”, is mainly about lucid dreaming. It’s a great piece of music and has lyrics such as “I think i’m awake” that i just recently really started to understand.
- I heard of a funny reality check. I will probably fail trying to explain it in english. You have to close your nose with your fingers so you can’t breathe in or out through your nose. In reality it’s impossible to breathe then, but when your in a dream, you can breathe even though you noseholes are closed. Just because i found that so funny i started performing this RC whenever i thought something was strange or unlikely.
My first Lucid Dream was a normal one at first. I sat in the train that i ride every day and listenend to music. I’m such a music freak that my subconscious ALWAYS plays music while i dream. It’s quite funny. Like my subconscious wearing an ipod on shuffle.
When i went off the train, i noticed that the station was much, much bigger than in reality (though i didnt think “…than in reality” yet, it was rather like “look, it’s bigger than usual today!”)
When i walked through the station building i saw some girls from my school and briefly had eye contact with one of them. I was surprised how deatailed/sharp i could see her face.
Then the station building slowly turned into my school. I didn’t notice it, it just happened as i walked through the corridors.
Then, for the first time ever, i consciously noticed that music was playing in my head. (just in case your interested: “catalyst” by Oceansize.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTsnXZNFIjk) I have a special relationship to that song now.
everything became a little clearer, brighter, and colorful, and i was feaking excited. I wanted to see how sharp i could see things, so i focussed on a ball of dust in the corner. It was so sharp that it seemed to move towards me.
I realised: This is a dream.
I turned around. (i was still in the corridor of my school).
The girl that i’ve been in love with for months now walked in front of me. You can probably imagine how my excitement grew again. As she walked in front of me, i couldnt see her face. But i was amazed how detailed she was and how she moved exactly the way she does in real life. I walked faster until i walked beside her and could look into her eyes.
Now you have to know that i thought about meeting her in a lucid dream often before, but i came to the conclusion that i shouldn’t do this because it’s not her real character, it’s just my imagination. So i was damn nervous because i was about to break a promise that i made with myself. So i just kept eye contact with her for a few seconds and focussed on her face, hoping that something would happen. And as i stared into her eyes, her face suddenly transformed into that of another girl. I don’t want to say she’s ugly, but in this dream, she looked like a monster, and i was scared as shit.
Like often before when i dreamed of something terrible, i woke up in my bed, taking a deep breath in. I rested a few seconds and relaxed from the shock.
But something was strange, though i could not say what it was. It was dark in my room, i couldn’t see anything.
Fortunately, the friend i mentioned above told me about this, and my fingers quickly moved to my nose.
It was such a funny feeling, breathing through my closed nose, that i had to laugh. I laughed really hard and i guess that’s why i woke up, and this time, for real. I was just too happy and too excited, the last thing i can remember is that i wanted to jump as high as i can, but it didnt work.
I had my second LD last night. But it was a really short one. Again, i dreamed that i was waking up. I was rather surprised and i had no idea what to do. But i noticed that there was music playing in my head again and also, i noticed that i was not just imagining the music, i was really hearing it. Amazed how sharp my ears were, i had the idea of playing some music. I played a cool guitar solo and then on drums while the guitar was playing on, and i continued like this until i had 4 instruments playing. Really, really cool. I wanted to wake up the others to show them my amazing music, but unfortunately my dream became a “normal” one, and i lost control of my dream.
That’s it, Thanks for reading! So far, i really enjoyed being a lucid dreamer, the only thing that sucked is that they were so short. Any tips on how you don’t lose control of your dream? I would be thankful!
EDIT: Just noticed that i put this in the wrong forum. Sorry for that.
