So that should be my 6th LD in my life, this site really does help.
So it started with me being at home and talking to this friend of mine, then somehow I realized I was dreaming and did a RC just in case. After I did the RC I went straight to the window. The first thing I tried to do was change the day since it was pretty dark outside and I wanted to see, the best thing I got was hite sky and it didn’t really change the darkness of the town. I also noticed that it was really cold outside so I focused really hard and changed the temperature to warm. Then I jumped out of my window and tried to fly, it didn’t work , so this time I tried again, I closed my eyes and I raised pretty high, just as high as I wanted. I just started to look at my dream town, and saw some of my friends at school, and went straight to them. Told them they were in my dream and all, their first reaction was “Aaaaw man”, I guess it was pretty funny. Suddenly I remembered I made a post here of all the things I wanted to do next time I became lucid. When I was about to remember some things my dog woke me up .
Now my question is, I’ve never really tried to control any of my dreams. This is the first time I try to change the weather, the color of the sky, fly, etc. Everything worked out just fine. I’ve read is pretty hard to control your dreams when you have never done it (In fact this thought came to me in my dream ) So am I just a natural at controlling dreams or my experience with past LD helped me a bit?
Btw the weird thing about this dream is that yesterday I was thinking that I would never need to do a RC in my house since I’ve never dreamed in my own house.
Latinoralph, it’s not necessarily difficult to control things in a LD. It depends on the dreamers, on their beliefs and expectations. Some people can easily do things which have been said very hard yet impossible by others.
Moreover it depends on the lucidity level. If you’re high lucid, you can realize that all what you see is an illusion and can be modified.
I hope you’ll soon find another funny experiments to do, like changing time, space, transforming, swimming into the ground, etc…
Hey, you did more stuff than I’ve done! I’m still trying to get the hang of flying… not quite there yet. I’ll have to try that night/day thing, and the temperature control. Great job!
You’re right. I would have said “it may depend on the lucidity level”.
In a high lucidity level, your memory and reasoning abilities are quite the same than in the waking state. You know you’re dreaming, you know that you’re environment is a dream and can be modified. Thus you have a lot of choices when you face a situation.
In a low level, you may have false memories, false beliefs and your opinion about the dream situation is rather unrationnal. For instance, you can know you’re dreaming, but believe you’re another person. Or try to convince dream characters that they are dreaming too.
And in a very low level, you just follow the flow of the dream story, and you almost have no choice and free will.
Like said, it’s up to your brain: does it believes you can do smt, or not. Someone who has had no LD yet, might read posts that say: “usually novice LDs are not good in controlling their dreams”, and this thought starts to destroy their faith. When i had my first concious LD i was able to fly at will, because i had never read that i might not be able to control my LD. The only thing i had read about LDs was one suggestion how to fly in LDs. So i put this suggestion into practice and it worked perfectly.
If you find it hard to do things, I heared it’s easier if you say “I wish for (enter what you want to happen)” That’s what I did when I had a dream (it wasn’t lucid but I was still controlling things) and I freaked people out by changing thier hair colour and turning them into trees.
