My lucid dreams are cold and boring

My lucid dreams are always really cold and boring, quite frankly a bit scary. So everytime lately I’ve gotten lucid, my dream instantly gets soo grey and dull. No idea why, shouldn’t be the other way around?

Do you mean literally cold?–as in they have a low temperature? How do you mean scary?

And when you say they get “grey and dull,” do you mean that the dream scenery becomes literally gray and fuzzy? Or do you mean you have a hard time perceiving? Your sight becomes dim and gray?

I’ve experienced lucid dreams and OBEs where my perception is spotty, where everything literally looks gray and unfocused.

I don’t think lucidity has anything to do with vividity. You can have perfectly lucid dreams that arent very vivid at all.

Personally, I usually have these “gray” dreams when I’m exceptionally tired. Sometimes I’ll even dream of being very tired or drunk or on drugs. Sometimes, I’m so tired in the dream–and everything is so grayed-out–that I will become lucid.

You may want to try having lucid dreams when you’re more rested. Also, you may want to investigate raising energy meditations. I’ve tried this and it affects the vividity of my dreams. Even inside the dream I’ve “run energy” and have increased the clarity of the dream. Another trick I have for fixing the “gray” problem is changing dreams.

Possibly, if you mean you’re literally cold in your dreams, you’re just feeling the effect of your physical body’s temperature and blood pressure dropping. This happens naturally during sleep. Maybe, when you’re lucid, you’re receiving sense data from your body.

As far as “boring” goes…Shake it up! Go on a lucid quest! Or simply investigate little strangenesses inside the dream.

Okay so the last guy said just about everything I wanted to. But as for scary I have a friend with the same problem. Here’s what I told her. If there are monsters, dance and make friends with them. If you just feel scared let out a big ROOOOOAAARR!!! As for boring there are thousands of forums about things to do if you need inspiration.

Well, when you get such dream landscape as soon as you become lucid, you should look at it as a white unused canvas. Make something nice of it. When you take a piece of white paper, it does look cold and boring until you draw something. Maybe this philosophy would work for you. Try to actively enhance your dream with better features, if you haven’t yet done so. If you are just standing there, lucid, thinking about nothing, the dream has no story or purpose and you would expect it to be dull and boring.

Really helpful advices from everyone and mostly from dreamosis who suggested it was because i was tired. I actually stayed up all night with a friend when i had those dreams and i was probably cold too.
