I recently had my first lucid dream about a week ago and the way I learned that I was dreaming was I had this RC of having this old broken zippo lighter and I always kept it on my left pocket. It doesn’t work so I believed that if I carried it around, tried lighting and it doesn’t light, then I’m not dreaming. But if it did light up then I was dreaming which was exactly what happened. Lit up my zippo and it lit up but since it was my very first lucid dream I screamed “I’m dreaming!!!” I got too excited and woke up
. But then I stopped using my lighter because after that lucid dream, the RC of the lighter didn’t seem to work any more after 2 days from that lucid dream, although I did alot of RC through out those days, so I stick with the classic stick right index into left palm RC for a faster result. Yeah I’m kind of impatient for another lucid dream to come but should I go back to the old RC or the I’m currently doing?
Congrats on your first LD…
Frequency of lucid dreams is very unstable and you should keep that in mind… Lighter RC sounds like totem idea , I’m glad it worked for you which means you should stick to it… But also having second RC is very good because you’ll learn do to double check and your chances are doubled if first one fails…
Don’t get angry if you don’t have your next LD in next 2 days, not to discourage you but sometimes I don’t have LD for 3 weeks, then I have 4 LD in one night, etc. Like I said frequency of lucid dreams is very unstable…
I know how overwhelming first LD is but don’t over push know with RC and with need to have another LD. Keep it cool keep it more like: ok, I’m doing this I’m practicing and I will have lucid dream, but it’s not big deal if I don’t have another one tomorrow… Accepting that you need time in all this is very useful and you’ll have lucid dreams in no time…
